First off, to all of you have stuck with me through this dark and rather disturbing story, thank you. I know it isn't always easy to read, and trust me at times it isn't easy to write. I do appreciate all of you who have even at least looked at the story so far, and to those of you who have commented, do keep them coming. Comments give me ideas, and show me what I should do to clear things up storywise so what's happening is understandable to the readers.

A certain amount of unfriendliness will be tolerated here. I just remove unfriendly posts and issue occasional warnings and explanations. But willfully pursuing another poster here with an obvious intent to cause harm will not be tolerated. Two people tonight went over the line and their accounts have been suspended. Passover Nissan 13, 5771/April 17, 2011

Well, I managed to do something so stupid and almost impossible that I'm wondering if God is trying to tell me something. I managed to lose my only bra. And since I am a "special" size, it would take somewhere in the range of 50 dollars to replace it, I'm devastated and discouraged. Unless I get a miracle, I wont be going out as Dorothy again any time soon. All this gloom is slowing me down in writing "Rock Star Makeover", so I'll put up part 10 today, but I don't know when any more will be coming. Sorry.

In the past few days, my short story turned serial turned novel, No Obligation, has gotten a lot of attention. We're talking many more hits per day than usual, with the first chapter easily scoring over a hundred hits a day.

I did a site search, wondering if someone had mentioned the story in a comment without my being aware of it, but there was nothing. Not that I'm not grateful for the attention, Powers That Be, but ... does anyone know why my favorite child is getting noticed? *grin* Inquiring minds want to know.

Well, my mom has told me that things have reached a critical point. I have 500 dollars in my bank account which basically covers my car payment and insurance for the month, and then I'm done. I'm at the end of my rope, and wondering if it has turned into a noose. Pray for me, if you're willing.

We were wakened the night before last at 2:00 AM by our little cat, Silky, trying to get our attention. There had been considerable lightning and thunder, not unexpected, for several hours. Suddenly, the wind picked up to a swirling gale. Small branches and hail pummeled the roof. We then realized that the power was out (not to return until 9:30 last night). The wind calmed down, then the tornado warning sirens began to wail. Power had not returned in the morning, but fortunately, we had natural gas for cooking.

I just had a bit of a scene pop up in my head where someone was explaining how humans are the results of crossbreeding between elves and dwarves, and what we usually consider masculine or feminine are actually expressions of our dwarven and elfin natures. I really like the idea and it feels like an important part in the middle of a story, but I'm at a loss as to what the beginning or end might be. Any suggestions?

Well. Here we are again. My Birthday. Under normal circumstances, I don't get presents on my Birthday any more. I've grown accustomed to that. This year, however, I get a BIG present from the courts. On Monday the 18th, the final court decree becomes final, and my name change is legal. All I have to do after that is go through my life of documentation and change everything. LOL!

I just finished recording the dates and information for Sarah Carerra, which I always do as I begin writing a new episode of 12-String. I like knowing where Megan is when I'm writting.

The interplay has gotten complex enough that I actually have the dates from broth Sarah Carerra and 12-String in an Excel spreadsheet.

Have I mentioned in the past that I'm a bit over-organizational?

I catch up with Sarah Carerra in the next episode, unless I end up writing 10k words about the Juilliard audition. While possible, it is unlikely.

So, apparently my editor had some real life difficulties. This caused delays. I do not blame her for this. Just letting people know. 12-String in the future will be coming as it comes.

I guess I still think of this one as my flagship product :)

And for those of you interested, I've decided to run on a 3 story cycle for my other projects.

It may seem a slightly odd question, but a new charity launched yesterday, called "Action for Happiness" (I kid you not - here's proof!).

Apparently, they've worked out that although average incomes have consistently risen over the past five decades, happiness hasn't.

To attempt to make us happier, they've published a list of fifty actions, most of which appear to be backed up by videos, text explaining why you should do it, and a bunch of resources.

I am afraid that because of changed circumstances in my life, it is highly unlikely that I will be able to post any new stories in the foreseeable future, perhaps forever. I would therefore like to thank Erin for allowing me to post stories here for several years, despite the relatively low readership, and to the few people who continued to take an interest in what I wrote.

So, I was looking up more information regarding Ovotestis for the Jubal story and I came across some interesting facts.

Apparently, the condition is no longer called intersex, but is diagnosed as disorder of sexual development or DSD, with the aforementioned Ovotestis being OT-DSD.

Not sure how I personally feel about this, but I was able to glean more information that may hold some hope for Jubal, since apparently about two thirds of karyotype 46,XX have normal menstruation. . .

Well, this morning I found an interesting job posting. It was with a retail store that focuses on home repair. On the application I filled out, there was an option to declare yourself a member of the GLBTG community, saying the company is committed to diversity in this area. The world has changed for the better for us, at least here, which is good to know.

I am posting this, because I am curious on how you came up with your name. I will start by telling you how I came up with mine. Lesley is from one of my favorite female rock stars. I liked the sound of the name, liked its meaning and it sort of fit my personality. Renee was a suggestion of a person I was chatting with at the time. It was one of his favorite names. I liked it, plus it was the name of one of the girls I grew up with and liked and it to some how fit me. Charles is my male middle name. I kept as a link to my past.

When I first joined this site, I tried writing fan fiction it didn't go so well. I'm writing a retcon now but don't know if it's being received that well. I hope that it works so everyone enjoys it because I'm really putting a lot into it, listening to other authors and trying to take advice.
I expect my writing to be a little rough around the edges. But I hope it gets readers. And for any of those retconners out there who have trouble with my style, please give me time to learn. advice is always appreciated. Even if I don't follow all of it.

Well, the interview went well, and I will find out on Tuesday if I got the job. On the writing front, I am finding my little story may not end up being as little as I thought. Running at about 10 K right now, and showing no signs of slowing down. I may end up just posting part 1 and letting things get started. What do you guys think?

Just some thoughts of mine...

When i wrote my prologue for my first story here, I of course watched the comments roll in. I was actually surprised at the number of comments a simple prologue on a story that hadn't even been told yet, written by an author no one had heard from before, had received. Naturally the comments were a mix of Good/Bad. I did expect a few bad remarks, and one or two i felt i did deserve. But what got me the most i think were when the commenters tried poking holes in the story. One even went as far as to say that i had written in haste.

I just saw someone on here who might be an author of a certain "Great Shift" story. This one references Heinlein. If this is the same author where's the sequel?! I beg you, please finish it you "English Rose" sir. ;-)

I'm feeling a bit discouraged with things as they are. I feel as if the Retcon interest is dying out. There are fans of this universe---I love them to death---but it feels like we're not picking up any new ones. A lot of us write these things and only a few us seem to be getting any real feedback from it. I didn't want to write this but its starting to get tiring writing things that only a handful of people seem to care about.

I'm curious as to when a posting becomes too long? I'm using my Assassin series as an example. Most of the posts have been around twenty thousand words, but the last was thirty thousand and there was a dramatic fall off of readers. Part two is has the most clues as to where this story is headed and I wonder if readers are turned off by the length? Part three is ready to post and it too is over thirty thousand words and I wonder if I should be posting as chapters rather than parts? Personally I like longer stories, but how long is too long? If you had the chance to go out as a girl (assuming you don't for the sake of the image) what would you think of doing? Somehow, I doubt it would include what I did yesterday. I went to the bottle depot and turned in my empties. I do this to get "Dot money", but until yesterday, I wouldn't have done that dressed up. But I needed a lift after Monday, and I want to try out being Dorothy in ordinary circumstances I would have to do if I go out full time. Not only did no one comment on me, but when some of my bottles fell out of my bag, the man behind me helped me pick them up.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, is Gabi's funeral, although everyone will be celebrating her life as her male name. I have a long drive to get there for 10.30 am BST but I'll do my best to get there.

Afterwards I'm going to walk along the Ridgeway Path, to see the White Horse of Uffington and Wayland's Smithy, both of which are prehistoric monuments. I'm sure Gabs would approve of my taking some time to reflect upon things before driving home.
