Just saw "Avatar: Way Of Water" a few days ago

It wasn't bad but I echo some of the critiques: it defnitely had some bloat and some of the action could have been trimmed. Honestly while the beginning connected the end of the first tailing into the other I don't think it was terrible though it could have been trimmed a bit. I don't want to get into the plot much except Jake now has a family and it really gets into that dynamic.

If you're interested in the Sega CD's library and want to take a swim, don't buy the Genesis Mini 2.

A few months ago Sega announced that another mini-PNP console would be released, the "Mega Drive Mini 2". It looked to be released only in Japan then a month ago they also announced the release of the Genesis Mni 2.

Great news for Anime lovers today....Right Stuf bought by Crunchyroll(Sony). sarcasm

Obviously you can tell by the title I am NOT happy about this and for multiple reasons. As someone who prefers buying physical for the superior presentation of the product and the fact that Funimation(owned by Sony) is severely OVERCHARGING to draw people to buy the digital product especially when they cut deep sales on Xbox Live(and likely other places). A product that is questionable that you have ANY right to ownership now given how Sony will be removing Studio Canal digital titles from people's purchased library.

Saw "Nightmare Alley" yesterday.

It wasn't bad and definitely had Del Toro's dark tone but one thing I plan to make clear from the trailer. I am a fan of Del Toro and his dark, Supernatural tone; however, this movie lacks the latter so let me disabuse you of that idea. If you still want to see it even then after the trailer feel free. It remains an interesting movie despite that though I was annoyed, feeling I had been misled by the trailer.

PS3/PSVita/PSP store shutting down in July/August. My recommendations.

The PS3/PSP store will be closing in July with the Vita one closing in August.

My recs...Getting these out of the way pretty much ALL Square and Enix titles then Atlus PSOne/PSP/PS2 Classics.
After this, Popolocrois 1 and 2 on JP PS store as well as Sega Ages 2600 PS2 remakes with Phantasy Star 1 and Fantasy Zone. Both of these are PS2 classics on the JP PSN with Fantasy Zone being a remake of Super Fantasy Zone as if it had been developed on the Fantasy Zone arcade board, go M2!!!
Those are it so far but I''ll find more games on JP PSN store to recommend.

New movies/shows released this year you enjoyed.

Just thought I'd ask here about new movies and shows that released this year all of you enjoyed.
I saw "Wolfwalkers" and definitely enjoyed it though the animation wasn't as polished as I like. The story and heart was there though and reminded me of what Disney use to be in Western animation. You can see it on Apple+.
Also just saw "Promising Young Woman" a smart revenge flick on sexual abuse, the main character who turns the tables on men in pick up spots. Worth a watch.

Movies released around the time of CV to pass self-isolation. Recommendations.

As Emma released in theaters around my area a week or two before CV lockdown it hit VOD almost immediately. This was a wonderful Romantic Comedy which I enjoyed thoroughly with Anya Taylor Joy as the title character being a delight. Every other character fell into place almost perfectly, especially Mr.Knightly with a look of scruffy hansomeness which endears one to him. An incredible set design displays a melange of pastels with impeccable colonial houses that are surely aged but look brand new. The costumes present a sumptuous feast for the eyes.

Story entries in the Noise Universe and the theater of war.

I'm going to try getting back to my Noise Universe among other things but I was wondering if anyone was interested in writing for it after reading my initial story.
I have an end point laid out for the original Canon when many battles will occur between the start and the conclusion. As outlined in the original story most of the conflict will focus on the Pacific theaters, with many peoples taking part.

The Final Whateley Class 1 Battle against the Bastard(lineup)

After getting stirred up a little I decided to write this esp. as a huge fan of this storyline.
As outlined above I will be listing who will be fighting against the Bastard and whom will likely be fighting.
As a long time reader of Whateley lore I have an idea of this lineup starting with: Team Kimba(absent possibly Ayla), Hive, Kodiak and Outcast Corner. Likely fighters include: Miyet, Laney, Tansy, Sangria(j/k I love Sangria's story) and Mrs.Carson. Questions?

Jeremy Clarkson is leaving "The Grand Tour", there goes "The Grand Tour".

Well big news if you love car shows, Jeremy Clarkson is leaving "The Grand Tour" which means that show will end. Regardless of if you think he was an ass, to me the onscreen chemistry with his co-star's just worked and to me and many others was magic. I can't imagine who they could find that will be quite as obnoxious yet endearing even if he is a snob.

"Fake" news and the purges by Facebook and Google.

While Alex Jones got yanked off of Twitter and others places everyone seemed to cheer. What got overlooked was legitimate Leftist groups and journalists have either been delisted or purged from Facebook or Google News. Chris Hedges was taken down from the latter after he criticized them in an interview with a website.
I saw at least one more left leaning group delisted from Facebook.

For those of you who are JPop fans one of the biggest just retired.

This Saturday, Sunday Japan time, one of the biggest idols in JPop retired. In JPop there are a few big female idols in Japan that it has their career path and a very successful one at that. I speak of Mika Nakashima, Ayumi Hamasaki and Namie Amuro. Amuro-san is the one retiring. She threw one last concert in Okinawa(her home province) apparently, along with local artists it sounded like from the news. Her more notable songs are "Can You Celebrate?" and "Sweet 18 Blues" along with many others. I own both songs and definitely enjoy each of them.

Picked up "Romancing SaGa 2" on Xbox today and...

It's vicious, I love the features but the prologue is brutal and I mean "toss you in the deep end of the pool". I was NOT expecting to have a couple of my characters straight up die during combat at the beginning in your average battle. They revive with full health after each battle but OUCH.

I'm still here.

I'm still here though it's been a while. I'm going to shoot out a few one off's before I get back to "The Seven Deadlies", at least two short stories though I hope you like them...rather I hope they are substantive enough as appetizers.
One will be a body suit story, albeit the scientific approach I present will not be the instant pop and go type of bodysuit, think "Skin Deep" except with the blank suits.
The other will be a cute wink and nod with Fan Service towards a K-Pop singer whose gotten VERY popular as a host/co-host in Korean variety shows.

Another entry in my Noise universe is coming.

Just wanted to give people who liked the start of my Noise universe that I had another idea come to me for a character. This may or may not be a one-off, I'm vacillating on whether he will end up substantially weaved in or not. He fits in perfectly with the spirits concept though this will definitely be intense.
I've got the ending mapped out, now I guess I just need to think backwards.

3rd chapter of "The Seven Deadlies". Apologies

I want to apologize for not having the 3rd chapter of "The Seven Deadlies" out in a prompt manner for those of you who are reading and really enjoy it. I'm one of those who is still in a bit of a snit missing a certain author's stories though hers have been a long, LONG time ago so I can empathize. Just know I am trying.

Second chapter of "The Seven Deadlies"

Just a heads up, about to post the second chapter of "The Seven Deadlies" here today or tomorrow and will be fixing the editing on chapter one. Apologies to those who had to read the giant junked up paragraph as that's not how I meant it to look posted.
I will probably be looking for an occasional editor in the near future.

Been hearing a lot about Patreon(differences?).

I've noticed people on here using Patreon as well as hearing about journalists and artists using it. What makes this service more desirable than donating to say...someone on Twitch if you're a broadcaster, YouTube or Daily Motion? I talked to this one guy who was raving about it, in terms of journalistic coverage.
I mean I've looked at a bit but would be interested to hear why you like it so much.

Great show to watch: SBS's Fantastic Duo.

There's a great show on SBS(Seoul Broadcasting System) called "Fantastic Duo's". The way it works is you download a region-locked app. from the Korean marketplace on iOS or Android. After you download it there are multiple options but one of them is "Sing With Star" and you pick the one that says "Now Apply" or something like that and you sing along with the star in the video that pops up. It's called Smart Karaoke and cues you accordingly in Korean text on the screen.

Confusing IPA entry for Catalonian "a".

I'm looking at learning the Catalan language and some of you might already know the IPA chart and how it really helps for you phonetically properly pronouncing a sound in your new language.
The problem I'm looking at specifically is the Catalan "a" vowel, most of this is because those of you who know the IPA know that a letter is linked to a specific sound. Bottom line, the issue here is I'm seeing conflicting positions on the vowel chart for the "a"(not sure if this is the proper IPA designation for it, just using it as a placeholder).

Looking to create an "Indigenous Language Elementary Education Initiative".

I know what the topic line says and I'll delve into it soon but first an explanation. I'm not going to talk about DAPL or anything except specifically how Native Americans have consistently been shafted throughout the history of this country, even up into the 21st century(Apache land in Arizona
being seized by the state of Arizona to give to oil companies).
What I propose here are two solutions that would work great in tandem...the first having a native American man/woman as an anchor of a

K-Drama fans here? Talking about a remake of one here.

I'm a big fan of Korean Drama and maybe I might find some fellow fans of a specific one I'm going to comment upon here. The K-Drama of which I speak is called "One Percent Of Anything", starring Kang Dong Won and Kim Jung Hwa as the main characters. Kang Dong-Won plays Lee Jae In, the head of a hotel in the SH Group and the grandson of the founder. Kim Jung Hwa plays an elementary school teacher named Kim Da Hyung.

Humble Bundle and charity

I had talked about video games availability in the previous blog post but THIS is about the Humble Bundle. Humble Bundle is a site that sells video games, DRM and DRM-free, with you being able to donate most if not all of the proceeds to charity.
My question is this...Big Closet is 501c3 right? Is there a possibility I can encourage them to have Big Closet as a donation option? Erin, Piper? Do I need to pressure Humble Bundle to give this as an option?
Humble Bundle has great sales at times and I'd love to see BC get my donation whenever I buy a game from them.
