Well, I seem to inspire kindness in others.

Take last night, for example. Near the start of my shift, I went into flashback mode, and my boss noticed me shaking and tearing up and asked how she could help. I asked her to keep talking for a minute while I grounded myself, and she spent the minute telling me I'm loved, I'm safe, and that I'm awesome at my job.

It was a great gesture, but it would be nice if some day I could be the one giving the kindness rather than needing it ...

Ah, well.

Recognizing opportunity requires experience

The how part isn't hard now that you have greater insight to knowing when. You'll see it when you do and be able to act because you care and because you know it's needed. It's how most acts of kindness happen.
