I was going through the stories on my favorites list, and it made me kinda sad to realize how many of them are unfinished, and may never be finished.

Some examples:

The Taylor project by Tracy Willows.

Cometh the hour, cometh the woman by The Last Boy Scout.

Belle of the Ball by Tels.

The soul does not perish by Lilith Langtree.

And saddest of all, Wild Magic by Wren Phoenix.

Sigh ...

Be good to each other, and be good to yourselves.

Don't count out Lilith

While she hasn't updated TSDP in awhile, she did reasently release a solo, so we know she still writing, just at her own pace.
As I expect you are, it's one of her stories that I'm eagerly waiting for more from, but we'll just have to wait untill she has finished them. ;)

Adding one...

Ceri's On Her Own Petard is one of my unfinished favorites.
Still, it's great as far as it went. I've re-read it three times, and still love it.

Also, I want to recall HOW MANY YEARS we kept lamenting the fact that Admiral Krunch hadn't finished Being Christina Chase...
after a while I think most of us never expected the rest of the story, but after a break of five years, he came back and pushed out the last ten chapters.

Unfinished stories

First I see the blog entry looking for more of Bob Arnold's material.

Then, on my phone, I accidentally touch the link for old stories with recent comments, and on the top of the list was a chapter of Timeout 3.

I remembered that there was some crossover between Joanie and Jennifer and thought, 'What the heck, I really liked this the first time I read it," and started re-reading from the beginning of Timeout 3. Many hours and much lost sleep later, I finish what has been posted (clicking Kudos along the way). That was so good, I'm doing what I should have done at first and starting from the very beginning. Not much sleep forecast in my near future :).

John, we REALLY miss Joanie, Miki, Pinky and the rest of the cast and crew!

Hugs,

To add a few

I was really enjoying String of Pearls by Eclectic Kitty. It's a long shot at this point but I still hope to see the conclusion to it.

The Taylor Project and just about everything by Lilith Langtree (Off Center and Do It Right if I had to choose) are definitely on my watch list too.

poor habit

I had gotten into that habit early on and I still have an unfinished story out there that gnaws at me. I think we get in such a rush to put things up and get feedback that we don't realize people want to see the end. That's why now I generally write out the entire work before posting (or now publishing on Kindle). We all go in with the intentions of finishing, but life sometimes conspires against us.

I for one stay away from long serials that seem to not want to end and I know several people who contacted me about waiting until the last section is posted before they start to read. It's one of those weird preference thing.

Writing is what you do when you put pen to paper, being an author is what you do when you bring words to life

Me too Dottie!

Me too! So many really wonderful stories that may never see an ending and those that can not, just frozen in time, who's Authors are no longer with us. We can only hope that some day those still with us will find it within themselves to pick up and finish their lovely stories! Loving Hugs Talia

Turning the question around,

How many unfinished stories do you have sitting on your PC/Laptop?
You know, the ones that you start writing and never end let alone get around to publishing?

A dozen

A dozen, plus four long (and pointless) stories that I wrote before anything I did here.

One in particular I like very much, and tried to rewrite,
but the fact that cell phones now exist destroys the climax.
