The tour of Britain came to my area today.

I went out on the bike (not the pedal type) and saw them at three places.

1) Ranmore Common. This is an old sromping groung of mine. I have fond memories of Folk Evenings at the Tanners Hatch Youth Hostel in the late 1960's/early '70's.

Four riders were in a break away but the Peloton wasn't that far behind.

2) Newlands Corner. There were hundreds of people here. The climb up from Shere is pretty good and comes not that long after to 20% grades of Barhatch Lane. There were lots of Manx Flags on show here.

3) Hogs Back

There is less than half an hour to go to the finish now. The breakaway group were only 20 seconds ahead of the Peloton now.
Nearly at the end

A few cyclists turned up to watch. I couldn't wear such an outfit.

I had enough time to get home to see the finish in Guildford on TV. Cav won.

All being well, I'll be in London tomorrow. Probably at the western end of the Tunnel near Blackfriars.

My 5 Seconds of Fame!
I saw myself in the highlights programme. At 15.1Km I'm can be seen from the helicopter sitting on the wall in front of the Esso Filling Station. I'm wearing a Black/.Yellow biker jacket.
