Road to Myself - 40: Remission
Annette MacGregor

It's been a while... okay, quite a while. But, rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated.

Six (6) rounds of chemo later (two on the drug I was alergic to and four on a different set), more bloodwork, a CAT Scan and another hip bone core sample (Okay, they called it a bone marrow biopsy) later, and I'm officially in remission. Good News, right? :-)

Some things that happened along the way... I got a blood clot in my jugular vein under the clavicle... (They had to work hard to find it... Almost wish they hadn't.) The result of that... No HRT for me... I'm on a blood thinner for that now, too. *sighs*

On the positive side, no further clots! And, starting mid April I have the go-ahead to re-schedule surgery (FFS) assuming the surgeon doesn't think I'm to high risk... Probably will still be the end of June/early July (when I'd also have my twelve (12) months 24x7 done)... But, with my chemo and all, I've not even done a consult looking for a GCS/SRS/etc. surgeon. One of these years.

In any events, under the assumption that my Leukemia remains in remission... My life can hopefully get back on track.

As to writing, I may end up releasing one story without editor support (as the editor has been too busy to do anything with it)... And, maybe I can focus on writing some. One can hope! I do need to finish Hidden Gifts.

Thanks for reading this far. I continue getting unbelievable support from my family, my community and my work.

I thought you said you were on a mission! (Only kidding) Glad to hear things are moving forward somewhat though no HRT is a bummer. Hopefully, that will change once you stop the anticoagulants.

If you need to talk, feel free as always, to contact me.

Take care and love to your family, they've done you proud as usual.

Hugs,
