Well the holiday rush is upon us and as usual, it's been a bit hectic fitting in all that needs to be done. But the gift shopping is all done. We finished it up yesterday. One of the things that needed to be fit in was practice for the Christmas concert that my wife will be singing in. That and she needed a new outfit to wear for the concert. The dress code called for Red and/or black. Having grown up a redhead, she has never owned anything in red, however with age, her hair as lightened up to a near platinum blonde, so in amongst our Christmas shopping we were looking for a Fashion Bug (some great prices there since they're going out of business) but never seemed to be near one.

We did however, run across a Catherine's. We went inside, and they have some really gorgeous clothes, very up scale. I've been looking for some black trousers that have the look and feel of some white ones that I bought last summer, but you know, "You can't wear white after Labor Day." Anyway, while my wife was trying on some things in one set of dressing rooms, I noticed a couple of other dressing rooms across the store near where the trousers were, so I quickly slipped in to try on a pair I liked. I started with a size 18. I've recently gotten down to that size. However they just wouldn't say up, so I tried on a 16 and discovered that they were capable of siding off as well, though they didn't "fall" off. Discouraged, I looked on another rack and discovered that I was a size 0X in some nice polyester Lycra blend. The whole time I was flitting in and out of the dressing room, there was customer being helped by the sales associate right at the rack I was getting the trousers from and they both saw me coming and going to the dressing rooms.

I decided to buy the 0X trousers and oddly enough my wive also bought a pair, so we have "his and hers" women's trousers. I also scored a couple of body shapers similar to the Spanx body shaper. They had a two layer built-in bra that allows me to convert them hold my prosthesis. I love it because it gives my bust a nice natural bounce.

I think Catherine's must have a very open transgender policy. At checkout, the clerk never even blinked when we were buying things in two different sizes and she was the one that saw me going into the dressing rooms. I guess a sale is a sale.

Catherines

I have found every store in their chain to be very accepting and willing to help in finding clothes. There clothes are much better quality then most stores and hold up very well for things that are daily wear such as pants and shorts. Sometimes their design can look like old lady clothes so it is kind of hit and miss on their clothing.

It is a long road ahead but I will finally become who I should be.

I would never fit in the clothes at Catherine's!

I quite like Dot's though, even if it is more a bargain type store, they have cute stuff and they're very accepting.

So. For the smaller gals among us, if you like me wouldn't fit in clothes from Catherine's, there's Dot's.

Even though I'm aware Catherine's owns other boutiques as well, I do believe all the boutiques they own are all in the plus sizes range? If not, I'd be happy to check out one of their stores that might carry Juniors and Misses.
