Female Trouble

Went to see my dermatologist today for my annual inspection and tune-up. After the main festivities, I thought to ask him about my thinning hair. I've been using the popular 5% spread on my noggin for the last six months or so, and I don't see much good happening, so I wondered if he had any ideas about what was going on.

"It looks like androgenic alopecia," he said, "and I'm not sure how to say this... It's diffuse and you don't have a receding hairline... I guess we'd have to say it's female-type."

Female pattern hair-loss. Oh, the irony!

Restoration

I was almost bald on top, I had only patches of peach fuzz and my hairline had receded at least 2". Over the next 2 years I tried 4 of the normal hair restorer products and they did nothing for me. I had read that baldness was caused by androgens attaching to the follicles. So 2 months ago I got some breast enhancement cream and began applying it to my scalp and low and behold "my hair is coming back" and my hair line is being restored. I apply it right after washing my hair. I now have 'peach fuzz' where I had none and where I had peach fuzz my hair is growing. I even have some patches of darker hair now, enough that it looks like I'm no longer bald (thin, but not bald).

My daughter noticed a change in 2 weeks. This is working for me and I can't say that it will work for you (or anyone else), it has certainly helped my image. And the cost is comparable to the other hair growth products ($45+ per month).

Good luck with whatever method you choose.

That link, above in Mark's comment, is contaminated. My AVG antivirus tells me it's got malware!

If you're interested in progesterone creams for... whatever, just look on amazon.com and search for progesterone creams. You can also google the web for discussions of hairloss and those creams, side effects, etc.

I did see one thing I want to try. Apparently, there are people who swear that vinegar helps this kind of hairloss. Interesting.
