All well and good, I suppose...

From the article:

Just last month, Ezekiel Stoddard, 11, of Temple Hills, Md., was ordained as a minister in his family's independent Pentecostal church,(emphasis mine) where his parents are also pastors.

Most churches in the Pentecostal Movement view homosexuality as a sin. They tend to oppose same-sex marriages, and they do not allow homosexual pastors. Some pentecostal churches also deny membership to homosexuals. They take the perspective that the homosexual can be delivered from their homosexuality.*

Many Christian fundamentalists, other evangelicals, and other religious conservatives strongly believe that both homosexuality and transsexuality are "lifestyles" that are chosen by the individual. Some believe that dysfunctional family dynamics and/or traumatic childhood experiences may be contributing factors to their decision to become gay or transgender. **

So what you're faced with is that the boy is likely going grow up to be an effective preacher against what we hold to be true about ourselves.

The child has no life experience to put context to his preaching, so he can quote scripture, but cannot explain to a grieving parent or a depressed senior citizen or a drug addict or a girl who cuts how things will be better other than to say, 'believe,' rather than 'belive...this is how I got through my crisis.' It says somewhere that you shouldn't be quick to lay hands on (ordain) quickly. It may be novel now, but the novelty will eventually wear off, and you might be left with one more well-meaning soul who just doesn't get who we are.

It is amazing what confidence can do, no matter how old a

person is. We know there are exceptions to every profession, including law. I liked the series Doogie Howser about a gifted child completing high school, college and medical school before he was 16. That was fiction, but gifted children do exist. Okay, so Ezekiel is 11 years old. So what. If he wants to preach the gospel and give the congregation a fresh approach from a different angle, then so be it. Nobody has the right, even parents, to tell children how to live their lives, and by 11 years old, a child knows quite a lot. I would love to see a gifted child lawyer. LOL. That would put these high falootin shysters on their guard, and maybe act like adults. LOL. Thank you for sharing this article and video.

He has a landscaping buisness with his brother, who I'll guess is about his age. Really an 11 year old with a buisness? Call it what it is. He mows peoples yards and weeds the garden.

I totally agree with many of the comments that he's too young to advise people about life. There is no way I would go to an 11 year old for marriage advice or advice about my job or anything really. I'm sorry hut he's to young and it seems like a publicity stunt
