There has been news in the lives of people around me and my wife.

First on Sunday, the 41-year-old wife of a friend of mine passed away in her sleep. I've known James for six years and I've written at his blogs. James and Kimberly had two young daughters, one of whom was only born last June. Through the malignant melanoma list I've known people who have lost a spouse, but their deaths came because of that dreadful disease they were fighting and weren't unexpected. When I heard of Kimberly's death I was both shocked and speechless.

Then yesterday a Palm Beach Post reporter visited my wife's workplace asking to speak to her boss. He didn't want to speak to the reporter. This morning the Post had a front page article concerning Fr. Kevin. The man who murdered his mother 32 years ago when my wife's boss was six-years-old was found by the police. He was in a Citrus County Jail after being arrested for another murder.

We've known Fr. Kevin for over two years. He has never spoken about his mother.

As we go through life, people around us pass away. Me and wife's experiences this week have been very different however.

Added- The wife just called. A couple from our church were killed were killed last night in this plane crash. Dear wife had just talked to one of them yesterday.

Oh, my friend...

Firstly, my condolences to James and his family. Secondly, while I know their pain is terrible, my heart goes out to you, dealing with that loss of a friend.
Fr. Kevin's loss is more distant, but still a bit of a shock. I hope that the scar on his heart has healed enough for him to deal with the memories this digs up.
My best to you, Danielle.

Most distressing news

The plane crash would have been about an hours drive or so from my home.

Lets hope this is the end of bad news surrounding you for a long time.
