I'm sure that a lot of you are wondering where the rest of the story is, I'm usually pretty punctual with getting my chapters up at least once a week. But throughout the whole of this story I've really struggled with the narrative. I love Olivia, I love everything about her. I think that this story was too much of an undertaking for me. I love writing it or at least I did when I started. About halfway through however it started to become a choir, something I did because I didn't want to abandon the story halfway through.

So I'm sad to say that its coming to an end. I'm going to make Ch. 10 the conclusion of the story. I'm going to add at least for now though because I might get inspired later on and write some more for it. But at the moment I just can't do it. I've been battling with this for a while, on and off for weeks now. I have come up with reasons to stop the story and reasons to continue. But every time I thought about it, I just could not convince myself to go on with it.

On a happier note, I'm not quitting writing. I've got a couple of ideas that I really want to get out there. This is stuff that I've wanted to write for a very long time. I've been developing some of these stories for months now. So I'm going to put Olivia and Retcons aside for a bit and tackle some of my original stuff.

I'm hoping that everyone who reads my stories will understand and not try to tar and feather me.

PS: Think of it this way, I'm throwing out one of my trademark cliffhangers...just a really massive one. :)

Raise your torches and pitchforks!

You're not going to finish? Raise your torches and pitchforks everybody let's get 'im!

All silliness aside, I can really understand struggling with a story. This most recent story and the subsequent rewrite which I'm nearly finished with have been a real struggle for me. I'll just have to hope you'll continue with Target Practice later on and I'll continue to read yours stories as you roll them out.

Have delightfully devious day,

It's perfectly normal

It's perfectly normal when you write a story that is more than two parts or so long. This is simply because you have become familiar with your plot and want to get to the exciting parts at the end, but you still have to do all the boring middle filler first... it's just like cooking, in many respects. You want to eat the goodies but there's all that peeling, chopping and mixing to do first, never mind the washing up!

This is the difference between an author and someone who writes stories. Authors learn that there are days (er, weeks, months) like this and grind their way through them. You'll find that once you get past the blockage things will suddenly start to flow again. Of course, many don't make it past the blockage... which is why there are so many unfinished stories out there.

Heh. "About halfway through however it started to become a choir," indeed. I hope listening to your choir wasn't a chore...

some people

go years between chapters, hopefully you will get inspired for more Olivia before then, but any story you write will have an eager audience here.
good luck with it.

I'll miss Her

I'll really miss being able to read any more of Olivia's tale. But, you might be able to bring us more of Olivia? WOW! I sincerely hope so. Thank You for introducing her to us.

Target Practice Uncancelled

So it turns out that my putting off Target Practice was very short lived. I can say two days ago I was extremely bored with the whole thing. But after Arkham City for several hours yesterday I got inspired. So I took the Conclusion tag off my story and wrote three pages of Ch. 11 today. It might still be a few days before I post it so bear with me a bit but the good news is that I have enough story in my head to find things up properly. Sorry for scaring everyone there but things are back on track :)
