And no, I don't have that good of an excuse. I could go on about how I'm having trouble figuring out exactly how to write the next part (which is true,) or about how I've been so exhausted after working on server issues and redoing several days' worth of hotel paperwork and all of that in the middle of a nine-day stretch at work (which is also true,) but really, those aren't the biggest reason I'm running behind.

Three words: Final Fantasy Thirteen.

I. Am. Such. A. Geek.

It's hip to be Square...Enix?

At least you're enjoying yourself; I'd heard a lot of people complain about 13's linear storyline (in a genre known for point A to point B gameplay to being with), although praising the combat system. And well, Lightning. Yum! ^_^

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause-of-effect...but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly...timey-wimey...stuff.

Not too bad for me

I've never been much of one for doing side quests anyhow -- when I was playing Final Fantasy VII I reached Sephiroth's final form with my Cloud being level 50 and I think my next highest person after Tifa being... 24? 26? I had managed to get Yuffie by pure accident about three quarters through the third disk. Though I do miss the open world of the older games, but that was something I didn't like about X either, so it's not like that's anything new. So far I'm on the third disk (I've had the game less than a week) and my favorite characters are Sazh and Vanille.

Hopefully I'll be able to pull myself away long enough to get a chapter up this coming Sunday -- in fact, I can almost say it's guaranteed.

It's been a while

It's been a while since I played any of the FF series (I think I last played FF X) but I remember well that degree of obsession where it takes over your life. Maybe its just a sign of a need to take a little break from the story, recharge and come back at it a fresh? Either way, embrace your geekness!

I am...

If it makes you feel better

I'm playing it on 360, not PS3, and the graphics are noticeably worse. Still absolutely amazing, but after seeing one of my friends playing it on PS3... when you nitpick things as much as I do, well, it doesn't even compare. It's amazing what a difference something as minor as the anti-aliasing on the character's hair can make.
