I'm Chillin'

Because of my own stupidity and laziness, I'm chilling at home today instead of going to work.

I screwed up and let my oil tank run dry, so now I'm sitting at home waiting for the oil man to come fill my tank and prime my furnace. (Sadly, that was not some kind of risque metaphor but the literal surface meaning.) So despite being stuck home alone, I can't even do it in Jenni mode.

I hate feeling stupid.

On the plus side, I may use some of this extra free time to work on Stephanie's new episode, which I'm sure both of my readers have been impatiently waiting for.

Oops!

Hey, come on, nobody's perfect, and I'm sure the same scenario has happened to oodles of other people who have "off-the-grid" heating (coal, oil, propane etc.)

If contractors over there are anything like the ones over here, he'll probably arrive right on the tail end of the delivery window - or even a few hours after he said he'd come. On the other hand, if he's on the ball and gets to you in the morning, you might have time to let Jenni loose once he's been and gone :)

enormous oil tank

My home heating oil tank holds enough oil for two years worth of heat. I top it off every year because my neighbors and I all get a bulk oil discount when we fill our tanks on the same day. The heating oil company truck just has to make a single trip. We call around to different oil companies for the best price.

...ever...just preoccupied like a lot of other folks, yes? Writing while you have an opportunity? Now that's great news! Hope your situation is resolved quickly...

Keep Fill Agreement

It's been years since we switched to gas, but when we had oil we signed a keep-fill agreement with the oil contractor. Do they still have those?
