I can hardly believe it. In just a few hours, I'm going to be getting married!

The past few weeks have been crazy trying to plan everything, but it's all been worth it. Even with the protesters outside the county clerk's office (there was a much larger group of supporters, I'm happy to say) when we went to get our marriage license, it was worth it.

At the moment, I feel like I'm in the eye of an emotional hurricane. I've been franticly trying to pull together some last minute stuff, but as I write this, I feel at peace. I know things are going to get crazy again, but I kinda think of it as part of the excitement of getting married.

I posted this as a reply to you, Arwen, just to cheat and get it as close as possible to the top of the replies

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

About time

this Sanctity of Mariage legilation crap, I'm embarased it passed in Wisconsin and even my 81 year old dad thinks it's a waste of time, effort and plain out wrong.

Best wishes to you and to any who wish this level of commitment. And to those who say it is an abomintion to God, which God. God as far as I undestand it is not a part of the legal framework of this land and those who wish to make it so are fools. The founding fathers feared a State religion like so many countries then had. And someday this nation or certianly some individual states could be majority Moslem; would it be just as proper in the eyes of Allah to ban Christian mariages as unholy?

Ths state is the state and religion is religion and never the twain should meet.

My two cents.

Best of luck, Heather. Um, this isn't a shotgun wedding is it?
