Yes, a surprise to me too!

What with one thing and the weather, I've spent a lot of time writing since I got back from York on Monday. For those who are interested, that means that I'm putting out the next bit of Only Five Minutes today! It should be available in the usual formats and vendors at some point in the next 24 hours. Here's a snippet to whet your appetites:

The hapless chap started running towards the girl, it was easier than he thought it would be, she weighed hardly anything allowing him to throw her over his shoulder as he dived for the still moving van, the side door now open. He didn't quite throw her inside, Kylie grabbing her from him freeing him to shut the sliding door and get in the front. Big Rodg hit the accelerator before his mate was even inside, the van fishtailed a bit as it slipped on the rails.

“Go, go,” Kylie encouraged Big Rodg.
The van rattled into life and after a moment started moving.
Her head was fizzing like when you had a full tab, they were really gonna do this, in a few days they'd be rolling in it, they'd ask for a million, don't be greedy Kyl. Once they had the money they'll go to Spain or somewhere, away from this shit hole, yeah somewhere hot wiv proper beer and chips.

Of course I can't leave the rest of you kicking your heels so you can read here, now and for free, A Day in the Life, the next thrill less episode of Girl's on Fire.

As I mentioned last week, the midsummer weekend I spent doing bike type things in York, travelling up on Friday and returning Monday. It wasn't high on distance but a big chunk was carrying all the camping gear across the Yorkshire countryside which upped the difficulty level! I called to see number one grandson on Friday - geez, they grow so quickly, he's already getting to be quite mischievous and adventurous. on Saturday the big event was the 'long' ride from York up onto the top of the Wolds, @ 100km covered in a leisurely four hours with a nice café stop out in the sunshine at Fridaythorpe. I did a bit of tourist stuff on Sunday, browsed for bargains at the rally and enjoyed a curry in preparation for the ride home on Monday. Somehow I missed the rain for that ride although I got just as wet with the high humidity!
All in all it was a good weekend, 260km ridden, chatting with friends old and new and chasing a certain young man around the garden!

So what's happening next?

Well i'll try to get more Trixie in the can, a short break from Gaby to recharge the grey matter! I expect to be online on Sunday which means you get more Gaby in a timely manner!

For now then
