I didn't write the following. The words were written by Becky Hobbs, and the song was sung by Alabama. There's a youtube video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9txzREaNO4

"I was walking home from school on a cold winter day.
Took a shortcut through the woods, and I lost my way.
It was getting late, and I was scared and alone.
But then a kind old man took my hand and led me home.
Mama couldnt see him, but he was standing there.
And I knew in my heart, he was the answer to my prayers.

Oh I believe there are angels among us.
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours.
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give.
To guide us with a light of love.

When life held troubled times, and had me down on my knees.
Theres always been someone there to come along and comfort me.
A kind word from a stranger, to lend a helping hand.
A phone call from a friend, just to say I understand.
And ain't it kind of funny that at the dark end of the road.
Someone lights the way with just a single ray of hope.

Oh I believe there are angels among us.
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours.
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give.
To guide us with a light of love.

They wear so many faces, show up in the strangest places.
To guide us with their mercy, in our time of need.

Oh I believe there are angels among us.
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours.
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give.
To guide us with a light of love.
To guide us with a light of love."

I know there are angels among us, because God just called one back to heaven. He must have had a really good reason for calling Kim back to his arms and his mercy.

She left us way too soon and will always be remembered by all of us who have been around since the early days of the internet, and by all those who read her stories, and by all those she touched with her simple, loving kindness.

So, there is one more angel in heaven, to be sent down to help us through our darkest hours. All of you are also angels, sent to me when I was at my lowest, when I was in need, to ease my pain, to share my joy, and to comfort me when I was sad.

I'm sad now, but I know that Kim is no longer in pain. No longer suffering. No longer stuck with a body she didn't want. Now she is an angel with a beautiful body to be sent to us when we need.

Kim, I miss you, and I love you. God willing, we will see one another again, and I can hug you for real. Farewell and good journey to you. Rest In Peace, my love.

No more tears.

Angels

There those here with us that somehow seem able to reach out for us who lost. No matter that they may be lost themselves, they have time to comfort us who have panicked in the dark. It hurts so much when they are called home to the Havens before us.

Even I who didn't know her hardly at all can see and feel the love and shock of her passing has had on those whose lives she touched.

Thank you Cathy for sharing.

Fare thee well Kim, till all good friends meet once more.

Hugs

I am not smart enough to know the future ...

I can't say if there is an afterlife or not. Empirically no, but then faith requires just that, faith.

I hope for Kim there is an afterlife and she is what she wished to be. Kim, say hi to my Mom, Ellen, my sister Ann, my never born twin sibblings and the other child before Ann that nature also took before birth. Say hi to Erin's lost love and anyone else who remembers/misses us.

Piper, life your life in honor of Kim and to use your talents to their fullest.

I am sure that Piper and Bill will appreciate it even more than me.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I didn't know Kim--just wanted to say I'm sorry...and I think that your piece was very sweet.
