Your photo is of an M1911, not an M1911A1. The A1 had a curved mainspring housing. I was an MP (MOS 95B) in the Army and carried an M1911A1 as my duty sidearm.

agreed, but finding a military issue a1 is a pain. I took the nicest m1911 I could find. Also I'm no armorer, just a former grunt.
