another day, another PTSD attack

So not one of my better days yesterday. After dealing with 30 degree Celsius heat, I went to go on the chat site only to be given some error message. After panicking and leaving a message here, i eventually tried the obvious -reboot and log back in, and it worked. With that little problem solved, I decided I needed to go see a movie, and went to Deadpool 2. Movie's fine, earns the R rating but good gags and action, but one of the characters in the movie had been sent to an orphanage and received horrible treatment there, and it is implied he was sexually abused as well as physically abused. It didnt hit me at the time, but when I was driving home, I realized I was disassociating, and when I realized I had been triggered by what I had seen, and started crying.

That I made it home safely was amazing, frankly ...

So another day ended with me shaken, red eyed, and nauseous.

Sighs ...

Oh, hon... Feel better, please? I can't take that kind of heat either, I just shutdown.

~And so it goes...

I hope you're better

I would have thought that such mindless violence was a trigger. I'd have thought you'd avoid such movies.
I know I don't go to such things for exactly those reasons and I don't have PTSD.

Be well, love.

I'm glad I was able to talk...

With you, Dot, for a while last night after you returned home from the movie.

Seeing that sort of stuff can be quite the trigger for those of us with issues like that in our past, or similar ones.

I'm extremely glad that you managed to drive home safely in such a state. That would have scare the hell out of me!

You know you can always contact me in a PM here or on the chat, Dot. Sending lots of hugs and huggles your way.

Gentle Hugs

PTSD frackin' sucks, hon. Words seem hardly adequate as comfort so I'll only say my thoughts are with you.
