Hi Everyone!

It's come to my attention that my 'two weeks' delay has rolled full on into a month and beyond when it comes to the next Magic chapter.
I have some good news, and some bad news.
Not sure which you'd pick first so I'll just roll with them as is.

Good news is I'm alive and well!
I've been writing when I can, but editing and posting is an entirely different prospect.

When last we met, everything in our house decided it hated me.
One month on and most of those evil things have left the house to be replaced with nice younger models who only hate me when I don't know what button to push on them anymore.
Unfortunately, using the same logic we are probably all familiar with in one shape or form, it was decided as a family that 'we've gone this far, why not do everything else that needs doing at the same time'... the idea was voted on by a voting body of one with three dissenters and two ambivalent cats... so naturally we had to do it anyway!
...yay for democracy?...

Anyway, that basically means that my already pretty busy summer time (re:my break in writing last year to avoid burn out) has included such fun tasks as 'painting walls'... 'repainting walls'... 'scrubbing paint off my favorite top'... 'scrubbing paint off my favorite top again'... 'giving up and ordering a new one instead'... 'just barely managing to avoid getting more paint on the new one when someone decided to paint the banister on the stairs without telling anyone' :) lol

What was a few rushed repair jobs has rolled into a house wide 'lets fix every problem we've put off for the last 17 years and make it all look pretty while doing it' session instead.
Now, while I'm not against making things pretty (our front room looks amazing now and I love the new squadgy sofas that just turned up) it has eaten into my time for doing longer tasks like editing stories and making sure they post up properly with no broken HTML etc.

I promise the story's not dead! It's just on a bit of a hiatus while life calms down a bit.
If it really comes to it, I'll post the chapters I have up unedited but I'd rather not because I'm actually getting kinda good at this whole 'making the stories flow well' thing (with help from my beta-reader/default frustrated English teacher Anam, of course).

As a peace offering, I have a few chapters/stories that aren't going to be 'Magic quality' edited but are ready to post at least, sitting ready to post up in the next few days instead.

Sorry again for the long gap between updates (story and blog wise), I did say before that I'm no good at these blog thingys lol
To those who messaged me to see if I was okay I want to say a special thank you for worrying about me too :)

Hopefully I'll see some of you in the comments of my fresh posts in a few days time!
A knackered and constantly wondering 'how on earth did I get blue paint in my armpit again?!' Nessa.

TL:DR - I'm sorry, I'm tired, I'm busy but Hannah will ride again as soon as humanly possible! :)

renovations

Oh god.... i know this feeling well! Few months ago we had a leak from an old pipe that decided it was a good time to flood the laundry room. After the leak was fixed somehow it was decided (not by me) that "we" should redo the shower as well. Just the shower turned into the entire bathroom *real* fast. Somehow when the bathroom floor was re-tiled "we" decided to pull up the carpet in the entire house and make the floors hardwood (or at least *look* like hardwood, it's some synthetic stuff that looks/feels like polished wood). So now all that's done.. we can finally relax a bit and... fuck! the Foyer now too? *AND* repainting the house? jeeze, you gonna re-roof it too?
What? wait? when did this re-roofing work become MY idea?

Soooo... yeah, i feel your pain.

I retract my previous statement after analysing all the ways the old adage used is flawed on multiple levels!

My intention still stands though, right?
Hopefully your renovations all turned out well Sadarsa :)
We've currently got plastering going on upstairs today and I'm hiding from it all because I do not need to ruin more clothes this side of pay day! lol

Thanks for the comment and understanding.

First of all, thank you for popping in with an update.
You have my sympathy for the outbreak of renovations, though rather you than me, even if I do I sit surrounded by decades of neglect, carefully ignored.

"Reach for the sun."

In the world of the blind, the decorator is unemployed.

I wonder how many more old adages I can ruin on this comment section? :) lol

Most people are lucky enough to be able to ignore things for a solid 30 years before it becomes a problem.
Our issue happens to be that we live in an old (not really old by British standards) house where the wiring in the walls when we moved in was wrapped in crumbling paper instead of plastic and the walls are plasterboard cladding on solid stone.
We leave things as a problem for more than a few years and they become bigger problems, something we've unfortunately done this time apparently on at least a few of the jobs at hand lol

On the plus side, we're now up to two rooms which are 'currently done'... until someone decides to paint them orange instead of their new colors or something in a weeks time at least :3
It's all fun and games in the end, I've tended to avoid the jobs I hate doing so far successfully at least so it could be worse, right? lol

Thanks for the comment, Pod.
In the spirit of updates; I should probably mention that the above promised stories/chapters are now all up.
Yay, for doing things in bulk while you can!

Hope things are going well for you, or at least avoiding 'outbreak of renovations' levels of bad in any event :)

Not looking forward to renovating

I know that I need to do that myself. First I need to do a good purge. I have way too much clutter, but every time I look at cleaning it it feels like an Arista level adversary to fight...
