I ordered some underwear from an online site. Please don't take me to task for that, okay? The package arrived after many days and all was as ordered...except.

Their ad stated that their bras run small and they advise people who order them, to order them two full strap/band sizes larger than they usually wear, a good thing as it turns out.

So, the package arrives... they ARE a bit snug, but fortunately they sent some bra extenders... for only three of the four bras I ordered. I emailed them, informed them that I was one extender short. The didn't seem to understand what I told them and assumed that my order hadn't arrived at all, completely ignoring the fact that I TOLD them it had arrived and all was well except for the missing extender. Their reply email to this was that they didn't understand what I was talking about and they had no record of any purchase made by me!

I re-emailed them, including the email THEY sent which confirmed that I HAD ordered and that it was delivered into my hands! They THEN emailed me to send a picture of the missing item. My immediate thought was: "How do I send a pic of something that doesn't exist." Never mind that maybe I could have taken a pic of one of the other extenders and send that, but then I thought they would misunderstand that, since I'd told them, over and over, that the extender was missing, so I sent an email asking why a pic was needed.

Today I received an email stating that they were sorry my order had arrived damaged.

Damaged? No. Just one small part missing, right? Anyway, I just got ANOTHER email telling me that they were sending ANOTHER BRA to replace the "damaged one."

Sigh. Apparently this difficulty is arising from the different languages between me and the company. (They are in China. Don't task me for not buying American, okay?)

Suffice it to say that I am so frustrated by now that I am ready to chew trees and spit out 2x4s! You watch...when this "replacement bra" arrives, sure as hell it'll be missing that damned extender! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

We fix for you. Send one new sheet of packing paper, yes. Must understand we right, you wong, yes. You English very funny, ha ha. Ask for extra string. We no use string.

Jeeze Kid, instead of going to WallyWorld and buying another bra extender. Despite the simple solution of moving what you have from one to another as needed. You decided to raise your blood pressure and test your patience by debating those who have zero ability to read English?

Never mind. I forgot you edited my stories and I slay the King's English with abandon. You managed that without losing your cool. Focus Princess Tiger, you can rise above this horrendous, miscarriage of justice. Peace will once again settle on the world and life will return to normal.

Love you hon.

Extra Bra

I agree its frustrating dealing with companies when they screw your orders up, but look at it this way. They are sending you a new bra to add to the ones you already have. Look at it as a freebee for dealing with morons. It's a win,win for you.

Global Economy

We live in a global economy. The frustration you have mentioned is nothing new.

About twenty-five years ago one of the companies I represent was sold to GE. Prior to the sale that company was one ofthe best in what it did, providing unparalleled service. Unfortunately, their new parent's influence was soon seen. They opened a "service" center in India and miss-communication became common-place.

I dropped them and moved all that business to another market.

Adam Smith's invisible hand is alive and still runs the world. If enough people become disenchanted with missing extenders the company will fail and someone who cares will take their place. It's a tough world out there.

Been there, seen that.

It happened to the company I worked for that was taken over by Compaq. Suddenly we had to report our times as if we were on a PC production line rather than working with a Government Minister to put a complete computer system in to his ministry (5,000pc's and servers and support and training and ... and .... and....)
Oh, and a VP had to sign off on all travel. As my customer was in Kazakhstan not travelling was a bit difficult.
Our famed customer support went out the window and off to India.
Got worst when HP took over.
I was 'laid off'/made redundant the day the HP deal closed.
That's life.
