Quite often I am asked to recommend a story. My answer is simple, just check my bookmarks. At the bottom of the story is the option to bookmark it. When I read one I like, I bookmark it. If that writer has more than one I like, I'll bookmark their collected works to save time. This really helps as my reading bookmarks don't take up my browser bookmarks and I've suffered from complete computer failure before. Have fun and enjoy the great works found here at BC!!

I always feel uncomfortable...

About items on my account which I might expect to be private are available to all. Bookmarks is one of them, Tracking is another.

I'm not aware I've ever given permission for this information to be made public.

Looking at someone's tracking reveals...

Ohmigod! You're reading transgender fiction... WHAT A WEIRDO!!

It seems like one person's tracking or bookmark list would be pretty much the same as anyone else's, not exactly interesting information; and I'd bet anyone who would bother to snoop probably wants to know is if people are reading their stories.

Still for them who are concerned that someone might be compiling an Infidels List for the Great BCTS Civil War (coming soon to a bigcloset near you) there probably should be a way to keep this stuff private.

(And I swear, I don't know how all those POOPY-BUTT DIAPER BABY TENTACLE PORN STORIES got bookmarked on my account; I never should've given my dog my password!)

Do you mean that I can read YOUR bookmarks?

I always access my bookmarks through "My Account" and then "My Bookmarks", and had always considered them to be MINE. Not that there is anything I would wish to hide.

you bring up the person's profile, as if to send a message, and select the bookmarks tab. Happy reading!

I'm Surprised...

...there are no bookmarks for Karin Bishop or Bronwen Welsh. Of course, if you actually bookmark all of the best authors, you would take up multiple pages.

I think a lot of people worry about publicly endorsing particular authors in fear that they might exclude someone important by omission. I think it makes a lot of sense to examine the bookmarks of any author that you enjoy.
