well as you all know, I've been on semi-hiatus. That break will be ending tomorrow evening. I've been working on my new story The Nightmare Rider. This will be my first venture into the Fantasy, alternate world/universe and supernatural genres. I do hope it will be well received. this won't be about transgender issues or body swapping. It isn't even magical gender change in the usual context. The story has one person playing two protagonist(main character) roles. I'm not really sure about all the tags that will apply until I start posting. I will go ahead and clear up some points of probable confusion before they start.

1) in this story ALL deities are real so don't be surprised to see the names of greek, roman, norse, christian and other mythologies.

2) technology went sideways before advancing. instead of horse and buggy being replaced by the combustion vehicle the horse became artificial and advanced. swords and lances were not replaced by firearms and explosives. They were updated by technology.

3) Feudal systems did not give way to democracy.

This world is not an earth or a flipped earth. Its a world all its own, though many of the people's names will sound earth-like. I hope this description helps prepare you for this new venture of Adventure, action, slice of life, military academy life and supernatural.

I don't know

It sounds vaguely like how congress and political appointees act like lapdogs for the corporate 'persons'.

As an example , it really shows the true colors of the party when the two members on the FCC (of the same party) oppose the cable monopoly on cable boxes (costs 10 dollars a month folks for HD ones, that is a LOT) and allow third party manufacturers.

The only reason why they oppose it of course is their puppet masters (e.g. Comcast) stand to lose a lot of money 'renting' out cable boxes.

Nightmare Rider

The name, Nightmare Rider, reminds me of a friend of mine who was a Honda motorcycle mechanic. He salvaged a Honda Dream with a blown engine by transplanting the engine from a Honda Nighthawk with a bent frame. He called the resulting bike, "Nightmare." That would make him the Nightmare rider.

Stupidity is a capital offense. A summary not indictable.

...reminds me of Ghostriders.

It should be an interesting tale Snowfall.

the next step

To be blunt, to me it sounds like as long as you have a strong character base and lay the groundwork early that things are different you can have a strong story built up fast and with us hooked early.

I read all of your work so far and had the pleasure of reading your book on Kindle and to me it's the next logical step in your development as a writer. You have shown you understand emotions, can create enthralling characters with unique skills that aren't normal, and can create amazing situations to put them in- it's just putting all of that together that will make this story great. And I believe you will, you just have to give yourself time and not psych yourself out. Keep at it, you can do it and do it well.

I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime
