Usually I don't cut and past from facebook, but this bothers me.

I fell while on the route tonight. I am disappointed and embarrassed. I have only one spot where I have to get out of the car. One. It's a door delivery and I have to go across this thick, lush grass. As soon as I step on it I feel my balance going. Luckily I fell forward and didn't hurt myself. Even luckier, because my years spent wrestling, I know multiple ways of getting to my feet. Needless to say, I left one paper where I fell. I went back and tried throwing another by driving a little on their lawn, but that fell short too. Tomorrow, after they complain, I'll call them up and explain the situation and see if I can throw it on their driveway for a few months until I regain my strength.

they do that already here.

They either leave the paper on you driveway near the street or if you have a newspaper receptacle on your mail box they put it there. thye have not put papers at the front door in over 30 years.

here

Here some customers request it. Perhaps they allow it because Florida has a lot of old people. I have a ton of front door request on my route, but I noticed if I get it on the front walk to the door no one complains and I'm pretty good at doing that. This house is situated differently, where I can't drive near the front door to make the throw. I doubt the people living there are disabled, their cars are parked 30 yards from the front door and this is a new multi-million dollar home in a high end community. I will call them once I get a complaint and explain the situation. Either that, or I'll have to figure out a way to take the walker with me.

Collapsable Walkers!

MadTech01's picture

I Know they make walkers that fold up or at least flat for traveling. We had to get my grandmother one, She almost never used the one she was supposed to at home, she claimed that because she could not travel with it easy she needed to know how to move without it. We got her one that folds flat so it will fit in cars easier, She still would not use it. Finally when she was at home alone she fell and hit here head, needed 4 stitches, She now uses a walker everywhere she goes. She is More Stubborn than an Old Mule. But back on you they make all metal walkers that will collapse for storing in smaller spaces, they don't have weals but you would not want to use weals on grass anyway they might complain about tracks in their lawn.
