The powerball jackpot now stands as close enough to one Billion dollars that there almost is no difference.

I have bought my tickets and am sitting waiting for the numbers to be drawn, hoping against hope that one of my tickets will be the ticket that will help me acheive my dream... that being the REAL building of The Home That Love Built, my little universe of stories on the internet.

It seems almost prophetic that the prize payout, the cash option that is, would be roughly equal to what I claimed my character had won in my first ever THTLB story, over 450 million dollars.

There have been many times in my life that I have felt so sure about something that it HAD to be true. This is one of those times. The dream I have of a place for abused, abandoned, hopeless TS girls and guys can come to and be helped, understood, and loved. Where they can get training, complete schools and transition if that is what they need, with the support of compassionate staff and residents and know they are safe.

I know it sounds like a pipe dream (which comes from smoking opium((which I don't do))) but I can't help but feel extremely hopeful and feeling like I DO have the winning ticket and will finally have the financial means to help so many who need help. That feeling of wanting to help runs so deep within me that it's like a primal need. I don't care if I'm never famous. I don't care if I spend so much that all my assets are tied up in THTLB. I don't care about fancy cars or mansions, or yachts. What I care about is helping.

When I win, it will be anonymously, since I found a way to avoid the inevitable publicity that surrounds big jackpot lottery winners. No one will know about it until the Home is fully built and ready to open, except those directly involved in the building and staffing of it, but trust me. When I win, it WILL happen!

I guess though, when the winning numbers are drawn and there is no mention of the winner's name, you'll all know it was me, right?

With stars in my eyes and hope in my heart, I am,
Catherine Linda Michel

There are lines at lottery places right now.
I for some reason emptied my change bucket and put more in from last night. I can only hope. I would be happy with a partial win to be honest.

Expect your share of beggars also

Doesn't matter how much you win, you will suffer from what I call 'Buddy the Bear' syndrome. So what is that? Well, I came in second place in a class spelling bee in second grade I think and was given a strip of about a dozen 1 inch diameter 'Buddy the Bear' stickers as a prize. I was approached by no less 6 kids, two of whom justified their need since they won third and fourth place and 'deserved something' and the remainder just wanted one. I did not mind sharing as who needs that many identical stickers? But to me it seemed pretty strange as I would never do such a thing.

So the obvious conclusion is that it is a common problem with humanity to have their hands out begging for stuff from people who somehow got a windfall, whether the person who gained the windfall 'earns' it or not, people just get jealous, or whether the person who has their hand out really needs it or not or deserves it or not.

Sorry, I take a very dim view of humanity to say the least.

It is with this thought that I think that people who win the lottery should have every right to remain anonymous.

With that thought, I wonder if I gave 10 million to Erin, I would be given the right to give BigCloset a new name? ;-)

No rioting good start even though not a single match

A friend of my brother parents are both Sheriff Deputies, were called in when off duty, apparently there was fear of rioting because of all the lines building up at lottery sales locations in large cities, and not getting the numbers before the cut off time, was feared. They called in all peace officers to be ready just in case things got out of hand. I did not even get a single number right on my quick picks, and if there are no winners Wednesday night could be interesting. the higher the jackpot gets the more excited every one gets. and the more people that do not participate normally will join in.

Hope is still alive

It is going to be a 1.8 beelilllllionnnnn dollar jackpot minimum, mark my words.

Someone...

or some group is going to be very happy if they hit the numbers.

I'm expecting

it to be split at least 3 ways, with it being about $1.75 billion as well.

The $1.3 billion initial estimate is way low; that would be less growth for this bigger jackpot from the previous one ($350 million) than there was growth between the previous and the one before that ($450 million), never mind the fact that there is an extra day between the draws (Saturday to Wednesday is 4 days, where Wednesday to Saturday is 3).
