Just an FYI, I spent most the day doing a cleanout of bogus forums. It was a lot of tedious work to delete each one. There is no streamlined way to maintain them.
Thank you to everyone that's been reminding us it needed to get done, and sorry it took us so long to do it (we try and do it every couple months). We're trying to work out a way to stop it from getting so bad in the future, so please bear with us.

What's a bogus forum?
I don't visit forums much as there rarely seems much recent stuff on there.
What are these bogus forums and what are they trying to achieve?
it is
a forum posting by members, that becomes a new top level category / subject.
like the millions of 0 response forum topics that were in the top level of the forums.
Stupidity is a capital offense. A summary not indictable.
Its a glitch in the Drupal software
Any category/tag added to blogs or forums becomes a topic. If the source is blogs, there are no posts associated with it. And even if it is from a forum post, posts can only be listed under one topic so most of those are empty, too. We are researching how we can change this nonsensical default behavior.
The only way we see right now is to not allow people to add their own categories and we don't feel that is the best way to do it.
