Could it be arranged so that when an authors name is clicked on authors list, a list of links to there works, available on BC, would appear. Some authors are nice enough to keep a link to such a page near the top of their blog, but others I find nearly impossible to get to any of their stories. Maybe I am missing a better way to approach this?

Guess I'm not understanding what you want

What you describe wanting is exactly what happens, far as I know. Maybe you can be clearer?

Authors List

Go up to the heading where there is a link to Authors, http://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/authors, click on that, then click on an author's name. Then you will be doing what you say you are doing but what you say is happening won't happen unless all the author has is a blog.

Author Page

Erin, Piper and all,
Might it be possible to sort the results which display when an Author's name is clicked on the Author List so that their Author Page and any other organizational pages display in the list before the chronological display of other items?

Most Authors who have more than one story posted on BCTS already have an author page either created by the author or your staff of simply amazing volunteers.

If a sort is not practical since it would require custom programming, then could you inform us how the sort works so that interested authors could do what some already do to get their Author Page up on top of the list created from clicking on the author name on the author list?

I already have a link to my author page on the page that comes up when one clicks on my User Name on one of my posts. I also have a link to my author page which is accessible by clicking on the author name in the title of any of my postings.

Thanik you for all you do to make this the best place on the net to read write and discuss transgender fiction.

Author Page sort

The built in sort in Drupal is Sticky and Promoted first, then Sticky, then Promoted, then the rest and in each category by publication date.

So, current stuff appearing on the front page is Sticky and Promoted, it will be first. Then Sticky but not Promoted, this is what your Author Page should be also many current blogs would be here. Then Promoted but not Sticky, this is for the bulk of stories. Then the rest which should be old blogs.

Hugs,
Erin

Future Date

Since the new stuff is on top. One "simple" solution would be to future date the Author Page-Title Page, make it appear to the system as if they where (will be) created in ten to twenty years or some thing like that.

PS A big thanks for the efforts bringing BC to us.
Thanks Erin, Piper, Cat and the others elfs.

example is karen page

i think karen page's stories are an example of what this blogger is talking about. there is no list of stories you can click on and then see how many chapters there are. her chapters are like blogs mixed with blogs and chapters of other stories spread out over six pages. she has a great story called a new style of education that takes awhile to locate the first chapter. i'm not sure how many stories she wrote because of the effort it would take to find out.

Author Pages

Piper's picture

This would be because Karen Page doesn't seem to have an Author Page. This could be because one was never created, or possibly at the Author's request (many authors at one point, decided they did NOT WANT a list of all their stories lumped together).
