Happy Christmas

Tomorrow is Christmas, the day in which a large portion of Christianity has chosen to celebrate the birth of Jesus of Nazareth more than 2000 years ago, despite the fact that from the best evidence, He was likely born in early March. :) But it is a celebration, not an anniversary, and the date was chosen to coincide with other celebrations of renewal and new hope.

Loving Christians

For all too many, and even one would be too many, this time of year reminds people of the power the Church holds in their community, a power too often used for evil and hate when it comes to people of alternate gender identity and sexuality. The number of TG folk who have been abused in the name of religion is staggering.

As an alternative, and to show the loving and accepting side of some Christian denominations, I'd like to share this page with you: http://www.nyym.org/nurture/gender/

Season for Unusual Events in Unbelievable Places

One of the more unusual places for something like this to come up: Pakistan. Or maybe not.
Wikipedia article is sympathetic, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hijra_%28South_Asia%29#Gender_i..., but BBC seems somewhat less so:

Just some writings.

Some of those having an impact on me. And I won’t ‘define’ them that much, but I do download those writers.
(Some of the best I suspect I forget to mention, they’re so much of a ‘standing feature’ that you, and me, already reads them, like Angharad f ex, so, I will mention her now. )

Wishing You All The Happiest Of Holidays!

On this eve of Christmas, and a couple days after the winter solstice, let me take this moment to wish you all the happiest of holidays! A very happy and merry Christmas, Idul, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, a belated happy Diwali, or however you celebrate your religious or non-religious mid-winter observances!

Merry Christmas

I'd just like to wish everyone here - especially Erin and the staff - a merry Christmas and a happy, prosperous new decade. For those who are offended by me calling it Christmas, well, that's what we call it over here and I'm offended that it should be called anything else. After all, that's what it is.

Any-who, I'd also like to bring you all up to speed with Google Chrome.

Survivor's guilt?

I assume that there is a huge diversity of population here. It seems logical to me that there are or have been every kind of male here from corporate presidents, to Doctors, to Electricians (GAH, that just ruins the neighborhood ! :)) , to men in prison and I know at least two shrinks.

So far as I know, information about any statistical comonalities regarding T folk has not been published, though I have casual knowlege of some traits that we seem to have in common, perhaps.

I am confused about the readers comments

I was delighted by the reaction and the comments to my first story, A boys letter. I wanted to see how Fictionmania readers would accept it and I was happy that it got 9. Most of them just written to say it depressed them lol. Well at least they bothered to tell me

So that inspired me to write a second one, to get the boy out. That got some comments here but at FM. well only one responded and I thought that many who were depressed by the sad story would be happy for the second. I dont know, I guess they may be. Now I am confused
But thanks to those that commented here :)

Jellyfish -2-

As I woke up the next morning I didn’t know where to turn. I had serious misgivings about my choices so far. I was getting involved, and with that come a price, vulnerability. And that was a price I wasn’t sure I could afford. I also had made a new powerful enemy, knowing all too much about my shady past. Yes, I’m referring to Ivan that wanted to buy Alana.

New Feature - Random 5olos

I've added a new feature, links to five random standalone stories in the upper left hand corner of the front page. Standalone stories tend not to get as many rereads as serials because serials keep reappearing on the front page with new chapters, so this will help to redress that imbalance. Plus, I just think it's kind of cool. :)

Looking for a story

I'm trying to find a story about a man who is dressed up as a woman for a business party. at the party he is put in a strange pod and transformed into a woman. he is then married off. She steals the secrets of the pods and runs away with her children and give the technology to the public allowing people to be transformed and to live very long lives. It is similar to JullieOs Fruit of the Vine in some aspects.

Let me stress this, it is not jullieO's Fruit of the vine, The one I'm looking for is much longer and darker.

Thanks
Jessica Marie

Something Feels Strange - 32

Feels Strange

As I drive home, I keep an eye on the rear view mirror in case I’m being followed.  I even take a few odd turns aimlessly down residential roads but don’t see anyone following me. I’m sure that the Major is being cautious, but I’m starting to think we need to keep from getting paranoid. After all, who would be worried by a simple teen girl working as an intern?

Chapter 32: Hormones

I wish to apologize

I posted a story/song earlier in the day which I erroneously attributed to another author. It was not my intention to publish this in any manner other than that which would reflect my source. In my haste, I published it believing I had permission to use the author's name, which I did not. It was a misunderstanding entirely due to my own error in judgment. I apologize to her and to those readers who had already commented on the piece. I have removed it of my own accord rather than leave it to stand as written. Once again, I am sorry for my haste and inaccuracy. Andrea

Apologies for being away

Hi, everyone.

I apologize for being away - I just had a free moment now and took a look at my email, as well as PMs in the site, and I apologize to everyone who were looking for me, and new installments of Danny and my other stories.

I have been having a lot of family and job-related problems lately: A sibling had an untimely stroke even though she's still very young, and we're having to take care of her now. Anyway, hopefully, with therapy, she'll be ok. Also - I just quit from my job. Not to worry, though, I am starting with a new job this January.

It's just a couple of days before Christmas, and I'm looking at the "In Memoriam" box,

sitting here, grieving for friends who have passed on, either from health problems, or because they were taken from us by violence. The "In Memoriam" box, on the home page, has grown by too many names in just the last year or so. Some of them I knew, others I didn't, but all are sisters who were loved, appreciated, and are missed.

Mexico City assembly legalizes same-sex marriage
Mexico City lawmakers on Monday made the city the first in Latin America to legalize same-sex marriage, a change that will give homosexual couples more rights, including allowing them to adopt children.

Changes~61

Still feeling rather bloated after my á¼ber pasty at the pub and slightly tingly after a goodbye kiss from Abby which would have put us in prison in several countries and been applauded in a few others, I made my way to the police station–a.k.a. Trevor’s house...

In this season - a Senior Partner is Named...

As many of you know, I asked ( read as BEGGED ) for help recently - and many people have come forward.

Currently, one person is looking into the scripting for the rebirth of Sapphire's Place. others are waiting in the wings - doing the research on HOW to redesign the site.... but with my stepping back from the site, that means that someone has to take the lead on both the site and it's redesign.

On Expository Screeds

We've had some truly excellent writing posted here lately. Great, adventurous stories packed with powerful emotions and levels of deeper meaning. Humorous stories with reader misdirection and Aesop-like morals. Simple stories, yet with a powerful grip on the heart-strings that profoundly affect the readers. I love all of these!

why write

I have been thinking about why I write and wished to respond to some of the comments made about what I have written, so here goes.

I have written stories because I imagine characters, sometimes myself in situations that I enjoy taking them to and seeing how the character develops, and where the story goes. There is rarely a planned end when the story starts which I know is reflected in how the stories often peater out or get rushed as I loose interest in the ideas.

I've done something horrible.

A few days ago I posted a blog entry that, after an hour or so, I realized i should have never have posted. I deleted it, but I had received a couple of responses, one of which I didn't acknowledge, and one I responded to in a totally wrong manner, hurting someone a great deal.

I have no excuse, and I wont even try to attempt one. I hurt a friend who has been nothing but supportive and understanding since we first met, and I feel terrible about it. Since then, she has removed me from her friends list, and ignored me, here. I don't blame her. I blame myself.
