Stardust Anniversary SF Story Contest

Printer-friendly version

Contest deadline extended to Sunday!

Details at StarDust. :)

A few people missed the deadline and Bob and I talked it over, so check out his announcement!

Let's see some stories as good as the ones entered here in the Holiday contest! As one of the judge, I have to tell you, I wanted to give out a lot more prizes. Looking back it still astonishes me how good that field of entries was. Some of the stories that didn't even get an honorable could have won a lot of story contests I've seen. Don't believe it? Check out the story contests at some general fiction story sites and see what weak fields they often have.

TopShelf authors Rock! Now go rock Bob over at StarDust. :)

Maybe just one this time

Alright already! I have one mostly written but not typed yet. It's coming, trust me! My problem now is to keep it under 10K!

I'm writing already! Stop jabbing me with that pointed stick.

Jeese, like I don't have enough pressure already.

Made good progress on my second story, something based on a very silly series of PM's between me and Itinerant this summer. My first story is being reluctant but I think I can whip it into shape.Wish me luck.

"Writing a science fiction story is ... well, work! You have to stop and think, rehash, make sure everything fits with no mistakes in scientific stuff, and then hope a real science fiction writer doesn't tear you and your story to bits." LOL...

Morale Officer

I thought I'd have my entry finished on time, but I won't. It's a near-future tale about asteroid miners. I'll try to finish it anyway.

Nooooooooooooooooo!

DON"T JUMP BOB! Erin was only joking about it being a Leap Year.

"Sorry, I must have bypased my goodtaste chip," to quote Kryten in Red Dwarf.

Nice stuff over at Bob's Stardust contest. Some great things funny and serious by new and old. Some quirky things I haven't figured out. Then there is my stuff.

Hooray!

Yay, I get a reprieve!

I'm trying to write in a pulp style, and it's not as easy as I thought. But a couple extra days should do the trick.

On the subject of Leap Year, I know a couple who got married on a February 29. The guy claims he only needs to remember his anniversary every four years.
