Interesting Summer Vacation Part 6

Interesting Summer Vacation Part 6

By: Kokopo618

"Lily," Katie begins, as I enter the cabin, "While I appreciate your determination, your form was all off."

"What?" I say I didn't expect her to say that, plus ...I thought I did a pretty good job.

"You were using your teeth a little too much and not focusing enough effort on the "head", the most sensitive part."

"I was just having some fun with the boys opposite us, not auditioning."

What It Takes To Survive - Chapter 2

Chapter 2
My face burned. Either from heat or pain or something. It was an odd feeling to go with the chest pain and slight shiver in my legs.
It wasn't at all like waking up from sleep. More like waking up from death. Although I wasn't exactly sure how that last one would feel, it seemed more appropriate.

What It Takes To Survive - Chapter 1

I hadn't remembered falling unconcious. The last thing i remembered was the screaming. Before that, the trail of smoke emitted by one of the fans on the left wing. Maybe if I'd given up my window seat, I wouldn't be as petrified. I remember the water getting closer and closer and I remember closing my eyes for what I thought would be the last time. I remember saying a silent prayer to nothing exactly.
"Jonathan!" I remember hearing faintly.
I was too groggy to process anything else. Slowly, i became aware of my surroundings. I recognized the voice.

Smoke And Pantyhose 2.10

The strongest relation in a couple is made by imitating and understanding each other. If the two try to imitate each other, wear the same things, speak with the same words, have the same gestures and walk with the same steps, the result is a relation so strong that not even fire nor ice can break it. At that point, each one thinks like 'what can I do to make the other one more happy' and tries the best to improve everything. The reason of your existence is your partner and its reason to exist is you.

A forgotten philosopher, over 3000 years ago.

Smoke And Pantyhose 2.9

In a hospital room, a very sick old man had his bed close to the window. Everyday, he was telling the others what he can see out: children playing, birds flying, trees and flowers. There was a young man, more healthy, wishing that the old man will die and he will take his bed, so he will tell the others what is outside. The old man died and the young one took his bed. But, he was very surprised to see that out on the window all he could see was nothing, just a wall.

From a poetry cenacle.

Tales From The Flip Side

This is another take on the restroom issue that has become such a topic in the halls of Southern and Midwest State legislatures . This is a parallel universe scenario that explores the question of who really should NOT be sharing public bathrooms with women and children .

Prologue

Matthew and Dawn had been friends for ages; ever since they first met at preschool. Very little could separate them. They did practically everything together and had sworn to each other to be best friends forever. They even shared the same birthday. Both would be thirteen tomorrow, and both would find out secrets that would alter their young lives drastically. It would cause a rift in their friendship that only the Gods would be able to fix.

Smoke And Pantyhose 2.8

There is no love more powerful then the one of a parent for its children. and there is no greater pain in this world then for a parent to see its children suffering (Legend Of Actit).

Mankind can live without scientists, without priests, without emperors, without philosophers, without warriors and without merchants, but it will never be able to live without mothers (An Ancient Prophet).

When a parent is crying for its children, the whole sky is crying. And when a child forgets its parents, the hell opens its mouth (Legend Of Imhal).

The Job 1

CHAPTER 1
Bloody cold and wet, typical bastard weather when I had the stupidity to pick a bloody skirt. I mean, on a stag, in winter, in Wales---I should have known better. I walked as casually as I could back to the car, where Alun would hopefully have had the heater on. He had, and had also killed the interior light so as not to show out so badly when I opened the door.

“What we got, Di?”

“Definitely a meet coming. That’s another vanload of booze just gone in; they won’t want to risk keeping that on site too long”

“Dogs?”

Smoke And Pantyhose 2.7

When the Ottoman Empire attacked Constantinople, it was not the fierce cannons made huge holes in the walls, nor the horde of battleships passing through the Golden Horn that spread terror among the last Byzantines, that conquered the city. It was something small, that brought the Turks in: The Byzantines forgot a small door open. The Turks could not believe this... and after a few days of street fights, they conquered the most powerful city in Middle East.

To Be a Different Someone: Chapter 15 (Final) "Don't Be Stupid"

No one came up to my room. No one came to the door. I don’t know if I really wanted anyone to or not. For as much as I might have wanted someone to ask if I was okay, I didn’t want to talk.
I didn’t pack any clothes or take my sketchbooks when I left by dawn’s early light. No note. Nothing. I just wanted to get away from everyone for a while.

To Be a Different Someone: Chapter 14 "There Goes the Neighborhood"

My Wednesday morning run felt like the re-reading of the last few pages of a horror novel, or more to the point, I kept re-living Monday over and over; thought about what would happen two hours later. Was it to be a day of blue skies, unicorns, and cotton candy or one of pent-up anger, confusion, and possible humiliation that would come to an agonizing apex? The thought that this would be my last day of school at Ferris was heavy, and on my way back as I stopped in front of the old house.
“Shouldn’t have said anything. Everything would still be....”

To Be a Different Someone: Chapter 13 "Up"

The truth hurts. We’re always told to be up front with others: don’t play with anyone’s mind or heart, honesty is the best policy, give a little bit of heart and soul and all that, right?
Mom could leave out a few small, relatively speaking, details and feel she didn’t do anything wrong. Dad could just flat out deny things—and people—existed and everything’s still bomb. Not a care in the world. I never inherited those genes. A part of me always wondered if I was adopted. Either that, or someone held a gun to their heads and forced them to copulate.

Smoke And Pantyhose 2.6

When someone dies, the soul moves to the Afterlife, which is in a different world. Still, something remains here. Those who passed away, somehow still live here, through the things they did and left to us. This is what still keep them connected to our world and extends their lives among us, even if they are unseen for our eyes.

Legend Of The Legend

To Be a Different Someone: Chapter 12 "For The Love of Him"

My morning run that day never happened, at least not in a physical manner. I had several dreams that I ran all over the city, the country, maybe a bit of the world. I wasn’t avoiding anything. No boogieman or demonic figure was chasing me down—and by that, yes, I meant my dad. I was moving toward something, but I never saw what it was.

The Dark Queen: Part 2

Foot of the Long Road

The assassin had finally reached the beginning of the treacherous roadway to the Queen's castle. Weaving though the scattered camps of minions seemed like the hours in an eternity. And then he heard it...the gong! The gates were being closed early! Apparently Her Highness did not care that nearly forty thousand of her troops were going to be trapped outside the walls; and he was to be trapped inside them.

To Be a Different Someone: Chapter 11 "Cest la Vie"

I woke up several times during the night. I sat up and looked out the window each time. There wasn’t anything out there, it was a quiet night. No storms, but I continued to wake up every hour or so. The only reason I could come up with were dreams of Matt—although I wasn’t sure if they were dreams or nightmares. I could tell him on Monday I was thinking about him all night and I wouldn’t be lying.

Smoke And Pantyhose 2.5

When you pull a sheep out of its flock, it will instantly try to get back. When a sheep is alone, it does not eat anything. It just makes noise, calling any nearby sheep. Its eyes scan the horizon, looking for any sign of a flock of sheep. When it sees a flock around, it runs towards them as fast as it can. No animal suffers more from loneliness then the sheep. By looking at a lonely sheep, one can realize how much lonely people are suffering.

The Wiseman

To Be a Different Someone: Chapter 10 "I'm Holding Onto Love"

In the morning, I went on a longer run than usual in order to think about things…like, what the Hell was I doing with Matt? This was the guy who, if he could, would roll the dice of my life for absolutely no reason—if my name was James. The part of me cowering behind the sofa was screaming at me that I was, once again, being an idiot. A beautiful, smart, and knowing what she wants kind of idiot, but an idiot nonetheless.

To Be a Different Someone: Chapter 9 "If You Want to Touch Her, Ask"

We drove to school mostly in silence. Krys tried to make light conversation but I had so much on my mind all I could do was give one word responses. I did apologize and thanked her for caring about the situation.
“You’re welcome. Now, let’s not ruin your second day of school by acting like we want to murder everyone, okay?”
“Right.”

"Lily? Hellooo?" Katie said, waving her hand in front of my face.

I stood motionless, like a deer in headlights or a doe, I guess, I had no idea what to do, but I had to say something, "I am um, I'm...uh...I..." Well, I tried.

"Don't worry, I'll let you finish, just clean up afterward, okay?"

To Be a Different Someone: Chapter 8 "Whatever You Do, Don't"

We drove home after cheer practice with Krys talking a mile a minute.
“You were great out there, really. You were.”
I really wasn’t too bad. I knew the cheers but never actually performed the motions so I was a few steps behind.
“Thank you, I—”
“Now there are a few on the team who are going to be put off by—”
“Put off?” I asked. “Why?”
It was my first practice, but the unwritten laws of cheerleading stressed that the weak shall perish and the rest of squad saw me as a lost lamb.

A Window to Your Heart Chapter 7: (Final): "Give It Away"

As I stood at the front of a church, I could feel a bit of subtle fear. Naturally, I’d feel a little bit of anxiety. You survive junior high then high school, and then you move out into the world. Sometimes, you take small detours…and sometimes you have to gun it down the interstate at maximum speed. This was that day for us.

A Window to Your Heart Chapter 6: "She Walks With Me"

On September 16, 1993, I had the whole world at my feet. Gone was the lost boy of the past. The worrywart was wounded and withdrawn from a wondrous life. I was a new man. Now if you think that I’m gloating just a little bit, you’d be right. I could. Because I had it all: school, friends, a car, a job, and the girl of my dreams…who was not a dream but true flesh and blood, and I got to see her every day.

A Window to Your Heart Chapter 5: "Place In This World"

I woke up early and nearly freaked out as I jumped up, grabbed the book from off of the floor by the spine, and placed it in my backpack.
“I’ll read it on the bus. Might have to skip a few chapters.”

Sinking into Myself Chapter 4: "Ice Cream and Indians"

The crisis had occurred.
The young girl sat alone and pondered everything.
Had he played with her heart? Kicked it down the way and left it broken?
Had she placed him onto a pedestal left only for God, and forsaken any divine tribute?
He had not spoken to her for a few days…always finding a reason not to talk, always in the company of the vicious lion, the one she thought he had broken away from, to find his own pride. While the young man did not say anything mean, the constant ignoring was cruel in of itself.

Smoke And Pantyhose 2.3

A tree grew far from the forest, in the fields. The farmer wanted to remove the tree from his land, but he had no axe. So, he removed all leaves and all buds from the tree. When fresh leaves grew, he removed them too. The tree grew weak and soon, the farmer could take it out of its roots.

Legend Of The Forest

To Be a Different Someone: Chapter 5 "It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing"

“Jennifer?”
“Yes?”
I sat in a couch across from Doctor London’s chair as she looked through my paperwork and then at me. I
changed a bit of my style that day: loose shirt, a short skirt, and a looped set of earrings.
“How long have you been thinking about this?” she asked as she stood up and walked over to a deep chair next to the couch.
“I couldn’t really tell you. I decided to do something about it and here we are.”
“I see.” She wrote something down as I continued.

A Window to Your Heart Chapter 4: "The Love Crusade"

I opened my eyes and looked to my side. All I could see was tall grass and a caterpillar on a grassy reed.
“Am I dead?”
“No, far from it. Welcome to a whole new world…or a great kingdom, however you want to call it.”
I stood up and looked to Gabe. He appeared at ease and calm, like this was just another everyday, common occurrence for him.
“Care to take a look around?
“Look around for wha—” I looked to the distance to see a massive fortress.
“That’s where the king lives.”
“King?”

"This is not a bra," said Darryl, disgustedly glaring at the filmy green thing. "It's wrapping tissue with ambitions."

"It's rayon," said Dot, her tone chiding. "It'll hold."

"I'm not worried about it holding. I'm worried about showing through it."

"The only way anyone would be able to see through this," said Dot, playfully holding the bra against Darryl's perky breasts, "is if you take your blouse off. Since you're wearing it to entice your man..."

Harry Potter and the Trouble With Neurotypicals: Book Four.
Or, "Autistic Potter and the Goblet of Fire."

Notes: I do not own this. J. K. Rowling does. This is just fan fiction. No money is being made. Not by me, anyway.

There may be a few bits and pieces lifted word-for-word from the canon material. I tried to do that as little as possible, though. And the more this deviates from canon, the less that will happen. But some descriptions and things like that are too good to skip or try to reword.

A Window to Your Heart Chapter 3: "A Way"

A Way

For some reason, and at the time, I never gave it another thought on how or why Mr. Irwin never came back for me. Yes, I sweated through history class, waiting and dreading that he would either appear through the door or hear his voice booming over the intercom. It never occurred though. Still, the period was smooth sailing because Tiffany sat three rows and one desk back from me.

A Window to Your Heart Chapter 2: "Restless Heart"

Restless Heart

I sat at a table by myself at lunch. Not that I wanted to be anti-social, it was just that I must have had a glazed-eye look, and it probably freaked people out a bit, so in what probably looked like a variation of the parting of the Red Sea, the student body steered clear of me. I would have probably wanted to avoid myself as well as I stared blankly at my brown-bagged lunch and the watery ring of where my soda sat just a bit earlier, now missing.

Today's Parable - 2017 - 08 - 24 - It's Time To Go...

Today's parable is very special to me and is written from the depths of my heart. Given what I'm currently going through, I felt compelled to write about my experiences. It is deep, it is dark, but hopefully, will also be far-reaching and uplifting to those out there that need it. I hope you enjoy it. - Haylee V

Tales Of Heirloom Gems 4 - Druids Wanted Druids Needed

Leanora is, what we humans call it, a dryad.
Years ago a druid had visited her glade. He had been awfully chatty, as all humans are.
Still, sometimes Leanora misses having someone who she can talk to about nature.
One day she gets the opportunity, not to find a druid, but to make one.
Eagerly she takes her chances.

A Window to Your Heart Chapter 1: "In Pursuit of the Dream"

“Do you mind? Oh, it’s you.”
“Yes, me…and who are you?”
“You don’t know who I am? No, no, of course you wouldn’t. What does a great messenger have to do with a creature from the depths below?”
“We are in agreement on that.”
“You’re not the least bit curious?”
“Not really…unless your intentions are nefarious.”
“Me? What gives you that kind of idea?”
“I believe you’re the one that brought the black plague to London…”
“Oh, so you do remember me?”
“Is it Linda…Lucille-?”
“LYDIA!”
