A Summer's Odyssey IV Chapter 2

A Summer's Odyssey IV
Chapter 2

“Jenny, while I was settling your parents estate I had several encounters with your grandparents,” Jason explained. “They refused to acknowledge they had no rights to the estate and it took involving the police before they begrudgingly accepted the legalities. They made it quite clear to me and Chief Kramer they hated all lawyers and thought wills were just a way to rip off estates. As a result I have no doubt your grandparents do not have a will much less a lawyer. Chief Kramer will attest to that. Since you are the only surviving relative, you’ll inherit their estate. Once we assure they have made no arrangements for their estate you’ll have say in who becomes executor.”

"Please fairy make me a girly girl!"

Another year later

"Please fairy make me a girly girl"

by this time the plastic fairy is rather worn. It's pink and blue paint long gone from all the praying.

In China the chairman flanked by his top officials went on the television. “Most of you will already have seen the terrible misfortune that has over taken southern states of America. From the broadcast you all saw it will be obvious to all of you the Golden Queen has returned. She told me where she had once had a home and I sent an expedition to find if it was true. I have now declared it a national shrine and installed a holy man there.”

“Rana... He’s toying with you...” In spite of the noise of the dead girl’s screams and the chaos of the fight, Greta’s raspy, sick-sounding voice rang clear in Rana’s ears. She couldn’t see very well, with her eyes teared up from the pain and shock of the blow to her face, but from her voice Rana was sure Greta was barely clinging to life.

Xabriar gripped the copper bowl full of dark water, his knuckles white around its edge, and forcibly restrained himself. The tools of his trade were becoming more valuable to him by the day, and this one let him see more of the distant goings on than most. He left it on the bench and stalked across the room, muttering to himself.
