I have had the tremendous pleasure of reading his work and his blogs. I, like some others, hope that Julie O can continue to use his characters to produce more of her wonderful stories. Jen Stevens is a favorite character of mine, and I hate to think that this would be the end of her adventures. I also hope that Stardust can come back. Even though I never met him, I can truly say I will miss him.
...it always brought me back to that old Hoagy Carmichael song, Stardust. As much as I can, I will try to remember Bob whenever I hear the tune, and to recall these first few lyrics that while romantic still express a bit of how I feel this night.

Bob was a great friend to our community, and we will all miss him.
I was privleged to know him for a long time, as I hosted his great story " Zapped " over on Sapphires Place, and I was always honored by his support and humbled by his talent.
We lost one of the Great Ones this time, and we are all lessend.
i never new bob personally,but i loved the way that he could tell a story.i suppose the best compliment i could give was he was one heck of an author.you will be missed bob not just by your friends but by your readers as well. rest in peace.
I never met bob in person, but I was lucky enough to chat to him on Crystals storysite chat rooms a few years back (while he was hoasting the IRC chat servers). The best impression I could get from him was that here was a man who lived life to the full. That loved life even with its hardships and always had a willingness to open his heart and reach out to others. His love for technology and how he could use it to enrich our cominuty showed in his hosting various services up to and including the StardustRus site.
It's not often that one can write their own epitaph but I think all of you will agree that truer words were not written than these from Bob's very first work, "Zapped"

I never really had the chance to get to know Bob, other then the stories that he wrote over the years and like many of you his writing touched me and because of him and a few others, I decided to give being an author a try rather then just sit on the sidelines.
It's good to see though that many of the people that Bob helped are doing the same with the new people coming in, that are interested in sharing there stories with us.

I got hooked on Bob Arnold when I read his "Zapped" story. For a beginner writer I thought it was a remarkable storyline with unforgettable characters. I loved his other stories too on his site.
I was very sad when I read that he left us. He's probably up there writing new stories for everyone up there.
Bob was found dead in his home on July 7, apparently from natural causes. His sister told the sheriff that he suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes for some time. Many of us knew of his illness. The last time anyone seems to have spoken with him was perhaps a week ago Sunday.
His family (correction: the Sheriff) shut off the servers which brought down sites hosted by him and also ones he was providing DNS for. I'm trying to get in contact with the family to help rescue his sites and get them back up. No more information so far. All I can do is leave a message with the sheriff since they cannot release the family name of phone number. Perhaps if an obituary is printed tomorrow in the local weekly, there will be more info.
And yes, doing without Bob will be difficult; there's hardly a site in the community that he has not had a hand in helping.

I never had any interaction with Bob, but he was a great author and I have seen so many authors comment on the help he provided to them.
It is obvious to me that he was a great supporter and promoter of free, quality TG fiction on the internet and he did it with little to no recognition. Even though I never knew him, I know the world has lost something precious.

He took the initiative to encourage a new writer, and he even introduced me to an editor he thought would help.
