The Belle of Eerie, Arizona: Chapter 3

Exploring around the barn, Myra discovers a cache of old letters which casts a new, and very disconcerting, light upon the old days when she was Myron and living with her parents. But just when she least wants to be distracted by visitors, a couple of Eerie residents arrive at her door.

The Belle of Eerie, Arizona: Chapter 2

Myra isn't enjoying her first day among people as she tries to seem like an ordinary girl. It only adds more stress when a couple of people she knows step up and try to be friendly. Worse than that, someone has gotten the idea that there has to be more to Miss Myra Olcott than what meets the eye.

Voyage Chapter 1: Fog at Sea

This story is my second story taking place in the Forgotten universe. I thought it would be fun to explore a time where the religion and superhumans were interconnected in a time not well explored in the superhero genre. Thus, while they are still superhumans, they are called Blessed during this time period and their abilities (superpowers) are called Blessings. However, I also decided to introduce a rather unknown aspect of Forgotten's history in this story. I had planned to introduce it Forgotten around the chapter 20 mark, but decided, why not here. Also, I'm aware that a large portion of the story is not written in the 18th-century style, nor do I actually take the time to write a British accent out. This is because I don't know how to. if I plan to rewrite it in the future, I will try to address these issues then, but for now, enjoy the story as is.

The Passenger

The privileged son of a wealthy family is keen to learn why he’s never been permitted to visit the top floor of the east wing. Is there a shameful family secret? Some mad old woman kept imprisoned up there? Not exactly… but what he finds there will change his life forever.

The Wrath of Achilles

This is sequel to An Achean Tale and will make more sense if you read that first. I had no plans to write a sequel but the idea of the unknown tomboy's reaction to the amazons just wouldn't go away. There will not be any more of these. It was too hard to keep this light in a war. I basically just glossed over truths about casualties and the fate of female captives. I read a bowlderized version of the Illiad almost sixty years ago. Since then it has always been a part of the accepted cultural background of my life without ever reading a decent translation. That may have to change.

This is a piece of historical fiction based on facts and possible facts. Is it true or is it a fairy tale? The choice is yours.

The Secret Life of Millicent Shakspeare

William Shakspeare is a teenager in Stratford upon Avon, longing for a career on the stage. When he receives word that Anne Hathaway wishes to see him, he hurries to meet her – not least because she’s the only person outside his immediate family who knows his secret…

Doubts 2

Becky continues her narrative of her life, constantly weighing the cost of being who she is.

I'm back in my office fighting tears. I want to know who the complainer is but know it's best I do not. If I knew I would run to her, tell her I too know fear, or at least I did. I was able to escape mine, suppressed it for decades while I receiving daily doses of testosterone against my will, becoming a man. Except I feel fear again now sometimes when I walk alone in the dark from Metro to my car. I no longer feel I could defend myself against an attack.

Doubts, A Narrative

Doubts

The following is not story. It is a narrative. It doesn’t start at the beginning, and it is not known where it will end. But it will; everything does. There will be several sequential posts as the author is motivated. Since it is a narrative there is no dialogue and it is always in the present tense. The intent is not to entertain but to inform and to incite understanding, context, perspective. Ideally a reader my gain an appreciation where we are today, and what it will take for a better tomorrow. Enjoy.

I have avoided using any names in those novels but in a few places I have used Major Sharpe as a cameo character.

Lady in Waiting – The Story so Far

I must apologise for the very long delay in continuing this story but unfortunately my muse deserted me for about 2 years and I simply couldn’t commit anything to paper. I feel that now I can continue - please be gentle with me.
Before continuing with the next part I asked the readers on FM what I should do re-post everything again or carry on from where I left off.
The responses were split between the two options so I was still in a quandary. After a lot of thought I have decided to write a chapter that précis the previous 11 episodes. As this is a précis a lot things will be omitted through necessity. To read the story in full with the historical notes please use the link below and I think you will gain a greater understanding. But I also think that if you are new to the story you will be able to follow.

No one needed to tell Alev why it was necessary to deceive the Polish noble she, in the guise of Alessandra d’Este, was not a suitable match for him. The chosen method Bona Sforza had chosen to convince the man it was in his best interests to break the contract between the d’Este family, not so much.

Story teaser

Here's a brief intro to a novel I plan to write, titled "The Winjkte and the Warrior". It is set in the Midwest in the late 1800s, and is a cross between Pocahontas and Dances With Wolves. Please feel free to comment. And yes, I am part Lakota...

I must admit, though, there are a LOT of Siouxan words and phrases used, and translations are given where appropriate, although most can be gleaned purely through context. When I publish it, whether here or through Amazon, I WILL include a glossary to aid my readers.

Journeys West - Chapter 1 - Prologue

Author's note: I do not believe that there is a need for any cautions. If you find something that bothers you, do not hesitate to let me know.

This is a story that is set in the Old West and in the present day. It starts out slowly, but it speaks to the fact that transgenderism is not something new but has existed for a long time.

It Won't Be Over by Christmas

When his mother dreams that the war won't be over by Christmas, and that he and all the other boys from school will be killed in the trenches, John changes his name to Joan and everything else flows from that.

Originally published in parts on Classic BC March 2003 and now presented in its entirety.

What happens when a history experiment gone wrong meets a 15 year-old girl on the way to the Harem of Akbar the Great?

Note: I did try to make this story as accurate as I could within the confines of my research and to give the feel of India and England in the late 16th centuries. This involved giving people of that era 16th century attitudes and beliefs. Other than historical figures, any similarity to any real person is coincidental.

BigCloset has permission to post this story on their website. For permission to use this story in any other way, contact the author.

Warning: This story contains violence, some controverisal positions and relatively mild sex: Rated R

Family is.. getting a bit out of control [4.4]

ourIceMain.jpg Nothing's ever as clear cut as it appears, the world runs on 'cause and effect' not convenience.
Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you can work out patterns from the mess but most of the time you just don’t know enough vital information to see past the tangled knots around you.
Hannah isn’t immune to that problem either, sadly.

Events unfold including but not limited to:
John's being responsible
(I KNOW, it shocked me too!)
Meanwhile Hannah finds out what drowning feels like.

Family is.. staying apparently? [4.2]

RvsB.jpg Gold is called 'Aurum' in Latin, it means 'yellow'.. rather silly really isn't it?
Surprising how much weight it can have for some people though and how useful it can be in some situations.

Events unfold including but not limited to:
Gran running a private postal service
(without cost too, you've got to love family rates)
and Hannah teaches a class while making her bed.. repeatedly.
