A question about sailing ships

Printer-friendly version

I have a question about sailing ships from the middle ages. Does anyone know how they handled being at sea for weeks or even months at a time?

First off, what century do you define as middle ages?

The time frame is needed to know just how various things were handled, as far as food, social interaction, voyage lengths and destinations, etc.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Being at Sea

What aspect are you asking about, food, boredom, fear of the unknown, technical details of sailing large ships with crude rigging? A better defined question will yeild more answers.

Good luck!
