Hello, I'm trying to compile some music and would love to get some help!

Think girly, feminine, empowering. That which to mince or sashay to, wail down the hairdryer to, shake your hips to. That to bring out the diva within. Even music which is masculine in a very tongue in cheek way can emphasize femininity, especially in contrast to the madeup reflection in the mirror.

I'll add two to that list :-D

No Doubt - Just A Girl (Youtube, Standard Definition)

Evanescence - Call Me When You're Sober (Youtube, HD)

When I've had a bad day I love to queue these two up alongside "Don't Speak" in Rock Band 2 and just let it all melt away ^_^

I especially love "Just A Girl". The sarcastic tone through the whole song is just so much fun to listen to.

Some Classics

Hey WX,

How about Beethoven's - "Fuer Elise"
Tchaikovskis - "The Dance of the Sugarplum Fairies"
Ravel's - "Bolero"
Rogers and Hammerstein's - "I Feel Pretty" and "I'm gonna Wash that Man Right outta my Hair"
Bernstein's - "Maria"

For something a little more modern;
Frank Mills - "MusicBox Dancer"
Everly Brothers' - "Wake-up Little Suzie"

You missed Blondie's - "Die Young Stay Pretty"

To name a few. (Most any ballet music would seem, to me, to be appropriate.)

with love,

Hope

with love,

Once in a while I bare my soul, more often my soles bear me.

Something for fun

would be 'Wig in a box' from Hedwig and the angry inch broadway/movie

A fun oldies are
'Lover's Concerto' by The Toys

'Love Grows' by The Edison Lighthouse

There are tons others.

I especially like "Extraordinary" by Liz Phair.

The refrain goes:

I am extraordinary, if you'd ever get to know me
I am extraordinary, I am just your ordinary
average everyday sane psycho (supergoddess)

Awesome! Some really

Awesome! Some really enjoyable contributions so far. I've got into the habit of carrying around a pen and some paper just incase something approapriate pops up. I'll post them when i've collected a few more.

Has anyone else thought about media with particularly feminine choreography? Usually people seem to appreciate the static image, but movement is a whole different language. I don't know whether its alright to express the idea in this thread, but what the hey! What better activity todo when looking your best!? Heres a few dancing clips I ADORE;

The most feminine sequence I think i've EVER SEEN! (0:44 - 1:10)
