You say “I'll surrender to my feelings this time... and they're telling me to smash your face in!” and proceed to do so....

As you bring the staff upward, you feel a power begin to course through you, similar to the sensation you felt when you first touched the staff.
But it isn't enough.
As you bring the staff down, Ken lifts one hand up into the air and you find yourself frozen in place.
“Wha?” you gasp.
“Do you think I'm stupid enough to go after a wizard without some spells of my own?” Ken laughs.
“One can hope!” you cry.
A heat begins to radiate from the staff as you struggle to escape from Ken's spell.
“Well, you were easy to subdue,” Ken says, not noticing your latest development, “I guess I'll go find the wizard now.”
He begins to walk away. When he goes out of sight, the staff flashes and you're suddenly free. You run to the living room, where Ken and John seem to be in some kind of struggle. You frantically look around for something that can help John. The living room is full of odd knick nacks.
What do you do?
---Use the odd looking lamp
---Use the snowglobe
---Use the jar of green liquid
---Wave your staff in an attempt to make it do something again

What is the nature of the struggle?
Is it them grappling and rolling on the floor, or is it some kind of 'I'm-stronger-than-you-energy-beam-struggle' variety?
If it's the first, take the snowglobe and smash it on Ken's head. If it's the second, pick up the jar and throw it, at Ken.

Ohh, go for the green liquid and splash it over Ken, if he is not in grapple contact with John. If he is, smash his head with the lamp if you can avoid hitting John instead.
