Rings

Printer-friendly version

RINGS

2 wedding bands sit side by side

On my dresser table

Last sad reminders of our vows together

Yours broke in two long ago

A prophecy of our doom

Mine now tarnished, its faded glow

Reflecting the dying embers of our love

Maybe someday I will find the courage

To take those rings

And melt them into something new

A symbol of hope for my life

And for the time yet to come.

Dear Dorothy

That was sweet and beautifully written, but so sad.
