FLINCH
Be careful how you approach me
Sorry if I flinch
You see, sometimes
When a car backfires
Or I receive an unexpected touch
Even from a welcome hand
And I am back in the past
Lost in a nightmare
Like a child in a dark room
And even ordinary things
Take on a dangerous shape
And I tend to remove myself from danger
By drawing within
So be careful how you approach me
Sorry if I flinch

Flinch
I still sometimes flinch from my husband's unexpected touch after 21 years together. It isn't anything he has ever done, just residual crap, leftovers.
This one speaks to me.
Thank you
