Dear God
Some people claim they know just how to reach you
The best way to pray
Some say on your knees
Some say with your hands in the air
I will try either way
Or both
If you will just listen
Because I have a question
I have just got to ask you
Would it be ok
If I was your daughter
Instead of your son?
I promise to dress extra pretty for church
And I will give my boyclothes to charity
I don’t want to offend you
I just need to know
Do I go forward?
Or have I gone too far?
Some people think I am just playing
But you know better, right?
It’s a serious question
I want you to love me
I don’t want to go to hell
And I know you are busy
But I would like to know
Will you pick me up in your arms
And be my Daddy forever?
I will be a good girl, God
I promise
Because right now I am crying
Because this hurts so much
So please
Wont you send some love to me?
So I know you still want me?
I will try and wait for an answer God
But sooner would be better
Because I don’t know how much more I can take
before its too much
So please send an angel
Because I am still your child
Amen

Such a precious verse... and another for you, dear heart...
Your workmanship is marvelous--how well I know it.
Your prayer is lived out by so many here. Thank you for putting words to our questions and sadness and conflict. And your verse brings me hope as well, dear sweet sister.

and then you still have to decide what to do. ― C.S. Lewis

Damn Girl...
Just really touches the heart. Best poetry I've read in a long time. Depth here, real depth. Thanks for this.
Dorothy, your precious
Dorothy, your precious prayer is wonderful and I thank you for it. I am sure that God is pleased that you wrote it to Him, I do pray that it will be answered for you and others. By the way, I love your middle name "Colleen", as it is my oldest daughter's name also. Hugs, Jan
God...that's beautiful.
God...that's beautiful.
Dear God
Will simply answer : "MY CHILS! MY CHILD! I LOVE YOU! BE WHO YOU WANT TO BE! THE SHELL MATTERS NOT, LET YOOR SOUL AND SHELL MATCH!"
May Your Light Forever Shine
May Your Light Forever Shine
The trouble is...
...it's not really a prayer any of us can answer for each other. There are plenty of voices willing to speak for God,
with others just as dead certain saying: GOD DOESN'T MAKE MISTAKES! HE GAVE YOU THIS SHELL, DEAL WITH IT!
YOUR TRANSGENDERED FEELING ARE TWISTED AND SINFUL!!! And others saying: LEAVE OFF YOUR PRIMATIVE
FANTASIES AND EMBRACE THE ONE TRUE BELIEF OF ATHIESM! I tend to agree with you Stanman,
but I also believe that the essence of humility is in admitting our fears & doubts,
in seeking answers through prayer rather than from pundit A, B or C...
Anyway it's a beautiful poem. Powerful, self-honest, moving. It belongs in that big hardback TG anthology
(the one with Heather Rose's SHOES in it...) that is my crazy dream. The Best of BigCloset.
~~hugs Dorothy, and thank you! Laika
Crying of a Memory
this pray brought up prayers that I have long forgotten I use to pray like that every day till i turn 25yr. That is a lovely pray that i had too sit alone cry for while before I was aboul to get my self together again to go back to work. Thank you very much for re-awaking these prayers in my heart even thou it seem like no listening it is still good too say them and too hear them. Some time saying them help too ease the pain.
Keep up the Great work here.
Sweet Dreams
