It seems we haven't quite cracked it in UK schools for transgender children.

Possibly one answer to the above.

i have seen in movies

i have seen in movies about britian decades ago where the headmaster said to the parents not to worry about bulling because it builds character , he never said what kind of character it builds. i do not know if this is true in today's time.

It is sad but the same thing happens in schools in the states. Heck at my school some of the teachers were bullies. I was sent to the principle office many time for standing up when one of those teachers try to put down a fellow classmate or myself.I was told by the principles that it was done to build character so I should allow it. I always replied that I just wanted to also help build the teacher's characters. I am so happy that much fire is not in me anymore. I still will not stand for bulling, but I do not get so pissed off about it.

I was researching TG suicides in USA

A little while ago in the US The data for 8,000 TG people was 47% had attempted suicide, and 3% had been molested in their doctor's office.
This seems to follow the Guardian's data. Very sad, support groups are needed, totally anonymous of necessity.

The second article.........

Seriously? Oh yes, in the US as well, something definitely does need to be done. However, censorship is NOT a good answer. It's NEVER a good answer. If we do it then the other side feels fully justified in censoring us, and we just go back and forth in a never ending war of what is or is not okay to say.

Bullying by all means should be dealt with severely. I don't know about UK schools at all, and I'm not even sure if this is still the case in US schools, but the policy of "zero tolerance" where every person involved in an altercation is punished for the audacity of coming to blows about something is an abysmal failure and, if it's still prevalent in our school systems, the real reason no one has any faith in reporting bullying. Until a teacher or staff member directly witnesses actual physical violence, it goes ignored, when witnessed, everyone who was involved gets punished. So, the bullied gets bullied further by the system that's supposed to be preventing bullying. And the bullies keep doing it because they only get caught SOMETIMES.

There will always be those who are outside someone else's norm and subjected to harassment, bullying, abuse, and even physical harm. From around age four or five for many, to adulthood for others who come to the realization they aren't what blends in with the crowd, most find ways of hiding it all. For those who don't hide, they face the brutal reality of being ostracized for being different.

As there will always be those who hate those who are different, there will always be those who accept. It has been such as long as there has been animals and humans.

Enjoy the difference for it is all of us whether you want to believe or not.
