Drabble Saga 19: Stop Making Sense

Printer-friendly version

"Here's your purse," said Larry, "with your new ID and credit card."

Davey stared, not wanting to take it. "This can't be happening," he said.

"Of course it's happening." Larry smiled, placing the purse under Davey's arm. "A nice old guy wants to pay your rent, buy your clothes and food and give you $500 monthly allowance on the credit card -- and all you have to do is read and look beautiful -- which he's also paying for."

"But," Davey protested, "I'm a guy?"

"I said it was really happening, I didn't say it made sense," Larry pointed out.

HMMMMM

$500 a month to sit around and look beautiful, I don't know if I could handle that. LOL

... one of THE most insane type serial thingies I have ever come across. Mad and brilliant and ludicrously believable. I suspect it's already almost a classic. Yeah, I know I haven't commented before, but I have voted. Can't help feel fer poor Davey. Whoooweeee.

Commenting

I haven't been commenting on the comments for fear it would make them longer than the story. :) But a compliment like this one from someone like Kristina deserves to be acknowledged. Thank you, I like your stuff, too. :)

Why the question mark?

Joanne?

My guess

I'd guess that after everything that happened (s)he's not so very sure any more.

Rewrite?

You are writing this story in 'Drabble's and it's quite good, but when this drabbling is finished I would like to see you rewrite it as a fuller story. Instead of 100 word inserts, maybe 1000 plus words. This story is a winner, not just for its minimumzation but for its humor and the best cure for the pains of the day is a good laugh.

I am a grain of sand on a near beach; a nova in the sky, distant and long.
In my footprints wash the sea; from my hands flow our universe.
Fact and fiction sing a legendary song.
Trickster/Creator are its divine verse.
