Bathroom issues are making the news. People want to ban transgender folks from using the potty of their chosen gender. I don't know where the transgender leadership is in these states, but let me give you the playbook on how to win this battle easily.

It's all with the ad campaign.

Here's the commercial. Fade in: A transwoman is rushing to the restroom and is turned away by some TSA looking woman (transwoman needs to be modestly, yet femininely dressed). Have transwoman squirm as if holding it until going home isn't going to happen. Then have her head into the men's room. (fade to men's room) Have a seedy looking male in the men's room, he checks out the transwoman and gives a sly smile. Fade to black: some struggling sounds, fade in. Show the transwoman in a heap beaten to a pulp. Put up words "Some Choice" then rattle of the statistics about how many transgender assaults, rapes, and murders happen each year.

Then put it in the hands of voters.

I Liked The Idea,

A few days back, of a hairy, bearded, tattooed Transman walking into the ladies room and scaring everyone. Next scene he's telling the cop or security guard, "Well, I haven't had my bottom surgery yet....."

Your concept would work better.

The visual problem with a trans-woman being refused use of the lady's room, and then getting beaten while trying to use the men's room, is that it is too easy for the ignorant and prejudiced to revert to the "drag queen" label.

Maybe not so brutal?

I think it might be better to keep distance from any physical abuse--it's too easy for the anti-TG people to conflate the battered transwoman in the Men's room with their fiction of the raped woman in the Women's room.

How about this visual? A TSA-type, very uptight and cliched, passing judgment on females attempting to enter. 10 years old? Haven't started menstruating? You're not a woman; you can't use the Women's room. 70 years old? You don't menstruate, and you, the 40-year-old with the hysterectomy? You're not a woman; you can't use the Women's room. You, in the hijab? I can't tell what you are; You're not a woman; you can't use the Women's room.

Rape, abuse, fear, and hate are all about power, not sex. Expose the anti-TG lobby to be filled with ignorance, fear, and hate.
