Very Special to Me
I can honestly say there are two stories that inspired me to try my hand at writing myself, and No Half Measures is one of them. Thank you very much, Jenny.

An Inspiration
As others have already said, Jenny Walker's efforts were what encouraged me to try my hand at writing TG fiction, stories that were character and plot driven as opposed to the traditional fare. My only regret is that Jenny hasn't continued to create more wonderful characters such as those she gave us in 'No Half Measures,' 'Breaking Cover,' and 'Chasing Hope,' my favorite.
As an aside, it comes as no surprise that it was an Irishman, (Irish woman), who set the bar when it came to writing. As another writer of note once told me when we first met, "You have to be Irish or have some Irish in you to be a good writer." Jenny certainly gives credence to that theory.

On the other hand ...
... a fair number of the current crop of quality writers here seem to members of the taffiosi and proud of it. Add to that the fact that some of them have a Scottish editor doesn't exactly support your assertion. There are good writer everywhere - race has nothing to do with it.
Having said that, I'm a huge fan of Jenny Walker and have all her fiction tucked away on my hard drive (and backed up on other media) so that I can indulge myself at will. I also have a couple of her early stories she laughingly (and understandably) disowns :)

Yeah, my website is down. My stupid webhost didn't send me a renewal reminder and then the domain was lost and someone else is hogging it. Really bugs me :( Have tried to get it back.
Now as to my muse... if anyone has that, could you mail it back to me ;)
Yeah, I do get ideas and to be honest, I try not to let them get a grip of me too much as I simply am not sure I have the time or energy at present to put myself through the marathon that is the way writing gets a hold of me.
Not to say that I've written my last story. Maybe if real life settles down sometime soon, there might be more craziness from my mind :)

Have enjoyed this book several times.
Put it on my kindle and I've read it about once a year. Highly recommended if you haven't indulged.
First Long Story...
...(other than Tuck) that I downloaded in progress, and I remain glad I did. Nick/Cara's transition period, covering the "First Movement" and a little more (about a fifth of the novel), is IMO particularly well done; I still go back and re-read it occasionally.
Highly recommended.

No Half Measures
The story itself lives up to its title. There are no half measures in the plot, flow writing of this story. I just wasted almost 3 days and the intervening nights to read the whole story now presente as a Retro Classic. And I should not blame the author, editors or webmistress for this "wasting" of my time, rather I can only blame myself for my own lack of selfdiscipline. ;)
I can do nothing but highly recommend this high quality work of word art to others!
