Shit Happens, But So Do Miracles! -- A highly recommended read
As I am working (aka reading) my way through Tanya Allan's stories, I have to say that this story of Martina Bennett née Martin Collins is a wonderfull story that will make you cry tears from laughing so hard at all the antics of the protagonists as a result of the strong characters forged through all the shit that happend to Martina during her childhood up until puberty.
There is are very frank discussion of sex and sexual relations, and even some descriptions of sexual acts. Even so, I did not find it offensive, disgusting or demeaning of the characters, as it has been plain to see that the sexual acts are the result of a mutually loving and respectfull relationship, and not the means to an end. In this case calling it "making love" would be truly justified. So for this the adult rating is justified.
Martina and Rob show a lot more maturity in their relationship than is commonly found in todays adolescents or even young adults.
Once I started reading, I found it very hard to stop (interrupt) for long. Though I had to take frequent short breaks to clear the laughter tears from my eyes.
It would be nice to have this story featured as a "Retro Classic" on the front page of BCTS.

I've lost track of how many times I've read this book
I read the version on Amazon. I've read it at least 5 times. Possibly as many as 10. I love this book.
