17/2/2017......Hmm, not really sure how this author page was even created, but I have a sneaky feeling it was done so as to allow authors to let on a little about themselves.

Assuming that's the case, I'll oblige readers by giving a brief outline about myself (if anyone actually cares).

Well to begin with, I was born and still live in the county of Essex in England and NOT Australia as a reader named ERIC must have thought with my first story.

I'm a hearty 59 (1957 vintage - a VERY good year) and have my own auto mechanic business several miles away from where I now live. Recently I lost my wife and dearest friend of 30 years, which is probably why I've decided to shed the secret I've had for so many years and which I have a feeling Liz knew all about, but never mentioned.

Nowadays my living companions are two aging moggies (Jerry and Jake) one or the other of which wake me up most mornings with a foul smelling, fish breath, raspy tongue lick. (yuck sardine milkshake of a morning)

I'd be lying to myself if I didn't say that there have been a lot of times when I've wished I'd been born a female instead of a male. Perhaps I think that way because I was raised with four sisters and being the only boy (even with my dad spoiling me) was constantly living with feminine behaviours, sights, mannerisms, laughter, sadness, moods and goodness knows what else, including various items of female clothing being strewn around the bathroom, until I got married and moved away.

Even then it didn't seem to change my life that much, as Liz and I raised two daughters of our own (Margaret and Mary) - now both of whom are married, although the stork must be busy elsewhere because he hasn't been sighted flying around anywhere near their homes).

............for the moment, let's leave it at that and in time I might come back to add more things to this biography if I think of anything interesting.

A story idea in the works called Caught In Slips.

24th December 2017 - I've begun posting a chaptered story about cricket and how a girl becomes a world class test cricket player. I submitted the first chapter to BC on Xmas Eve and hope to upload a chapter each week until I've finished. I obtained help from one of my readers who lives in Australia and so based the story on an boy born in England, who along with his family transfers to Australia as per his dad's work and once there through trial and error comes to realise that underneath his skin is a girl waiting to get out. I chose Australia and not England to set the story in because 1. an Australian reader provided me with a lot of background help and 2. Australia has been a major influence on cricket (at times) and also still has a few characters involved in the game whereas in England, "colourful unique individuals" are just about extinct and why English cricket is staid and boring.

I have to admit that the idea for the plot isn't an original one as I recall several years ago reading a cricket story by a now deceased author called OES who uploaded a story about a boy who changed over to a girl while also becoming a fantastic cricketer. I just wish at the time I'd copied the chapters he uploaded to BC because one day they just seemed to vanish off the site. but I don't seem to think he actually ended up publishing the story on Kindle or the like. I can vaguely remember a lot of his plot ideas and I'm quite willing to use some where ever I feel it might lead to an interesting plot development.

MY story (Caught In Slips)starts when he/she is a 13 year old teenager called Michael living in Essex UK and it is my intention to try and show some of his(her) escapades in Country NSW where they relocate to until as a girl she starts playing cricket for her adopted country. I'm planning not to get to caught up in cricket's nitty gritty and instead highlight both some cricket as well as adventures she'll possibly face, including a test drive on Top Gear where "everything" will go haywire.

Along the way my character also learns how to become a barmaid, along with wearing a unique type of uniform, as she works her way through university. She may also try singing in a pub on Sunday afternoons among other ideas I've got stirring round in my head. A lot of chapters will be almost stand alone adventures although tied into cricket through an inter related plot line. Her high school years will hopefully provided a few laughs as I upload early chapters hopefully weekly or once a fortnight (time permitting). I'm taking advantage of the Xmas/NY period at the moment to post several chapters because after that I will find it difficult finding the time.
