Real Stories without endings

Stories without endings. I live in a city with a major state university. Listening to my scanner today there was a call for a welfare check. People were reporting a girl on the parking garage at the union that seemed out of it. She wouldn't respond to people and she had 'an odd look in her eyes'.

The university police responded to the garage and the first one on the scene reported she was standing on the top rail of the top deck of the garage. A fall from there would be three stories down to concrete.

ISO Story

Seeing the latest chapter of Kelly's Story reminded me of a similar story I've lost track of. An elderly veteran with a penchant for keeping things interesting is offered a chance at rejuvenation with the understanding that he will become a teen girl. She is adopted by her psych and enrolled in high school like any normal girl her age. It doesn't take long before she makes her new life interesting. Beating up bullies in the mall and at school gets her attention the government would rather not have.

Damn 503!

I just wrote a six paragraph comment, took me a good 15-20 minutes and several tissues. Rechecked and ready to go, I hit Preview. What I got back was that damn 503 error. When everything came back it goes without saying (but I'm going to) my piece was gone. As I wrote it from the heart and in the right mood I know I won't be able to rewrite it.

It was just after midnight CST, and if my memory serves me correctly it happened at about the same time a couple of days ago.
Is there a set time for this to happen?

ISO Story

Reading about an accident locally where a little boy was run over while riding his bike and dragged under the car. It reminded me of a story about a little boy that was run over by an elderly neighbor. He's in bad shape but docs have to wait for his parents to return from England to get permission to basically perform SRS on the boy. The parents are caught up in the 9/11 aftermath with no flights being allowed in or out of the country. But it seems our little boy has some ideas of his own!

Some Decency In The Porn World

Ran into this on fb. The day after Alexis Arquette died, a former boyfriend of hers started hawking a sex tape to various media sources. The porn media mega site xHamster paid $25,000 for it, and after insuring there were no other copies out there, destroyed them. I'm never going to be doing business with them, but isn't it nice that there are people out there willing to do the right thing even when it costs them a large chunk of money?

Thank you, gentlemen.

Stories Reposted

For anybody is interested I have had my stories reposted. I was planning on reworking some to correct flaws and mistakes readers pointed out, but I just decided "Hell with it!" and asked Erin to make them available. Feel free to look them over and post a comment asking for clarification or to report problems.

I recommend these stories to start with. They best reflect where I'm at currently. Warning! These are not feel-good stories and may upset some. I urge you to exit right away if you find them upsetting.

That kind of weekend

Well. it seems that several people are having that kind of a weekend, so I might as well throw another log on the fire.n I spent a good portion of early Sat. morning in the local ER. When it was all done with it seems I had a rip-roaring infection so they put me on a fresh bottle of saline to which they added a metric shitload of antibiotics and a hypo of morphine. While the antibiotics are probably the key to my long term health the morphine sure was nice!

In Memorium

Today is the first of three sad anniversaries for NASA. On this day in 1967 a flashfire during routine preflight testing of the Apollo 1 spacecraft took the lives of Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee.

Tomorrow, Jan. 28, is the 30th anniversary of the Challenger shuttle disaster.

And Feb. 1, is the 13th anniversary of the Colombia disaster.

New Choices?

I dropped in today, first time in several days and saw this "Recent Status" added to my left column. It didn't look like anything I needed and the LH column is getting too long as it is, so I opened "My Account" and edited things.

Looking for story

Trying to find a story I read several years ago. Mom wants son to get a haircut, son refuses. Mom makes a deal, if he can keep his hair off his collar for 30 days he can keep it. Son learns a variety of updos with his mom's help. But one evening he and his mom are seen at a drive-in by two of the really popular girls when he has his hair in a Gibson Girl style. They recuit him to help them get away from their abusive boyfriends.

For those of you that don't know of it or just not following it, this is a webcomic "Rain", about a MTF transsexual named Rain. She is trying to juggle her changing life, deal with friends both knowing and unknowing, attempting to live through a sort of RLT; all while attending high school. The page just posted, Rain p383, has a gay friend/sorta boyfriend, Rudy, sum up Rain's reality and why he loves her.

Porous Memory - Lost Story

Since my main computer died awhile back I've been a bit lost, and my porous memory isn't helping. There was a multi-part story awhile back, by one of our top authors. Set in medieval time, it's about a boy who is so scrawny he can't find anyone to apprentice him except the local dressmaker. He goes to a tournament and the victor in a duel on horseback chooses him, thinking he is a girl. As the story goes on he actually turns into a young woman, and what a little hellcat she is!

Looking for a distraction - LOTR

Trying to distract myself last night, my mind stopped on the clothing designs for Galadriel and Arwen's costumes that Paula described in her excellent story - Fashion Star. Now, I haven't seen the movies so I don't have a clue what was designed for them but I have read the novels and I just couldn't picture the need for crinolines with the sort of outfits Tolkien described. So like anybody these days, I turned to Google for the answer.
