The word "vicarious" is defined on Dictionary.com as "felt or enjoyed through imagined participation in the experience of others". I think that many writers are being vicarious with their writing. It pretty easy for me to identify with my main characters because my interest in this subject originated with the problems my inter-sexed sister had when her gender problems came to light. Both she and I were very young when it happened but, of course, it made a big impression on me so I remember quite a bit about it and I learned more as time went by.

I think most scientists, accept that there is a finite amount of matter in the university.

I found a list of clichés to avoid in one's writing. Of course, I had to see if I could use all the clichés in a short amount of space. It wasn't difficult, but it was kinda fun. Here is the result:

A character in a story I'm writing now is a scientist who, due to a discovery of his, is very well off. I'm thinking of asking him for a loan or gift. Has anyone ever done this? Does anyone know if it will work? Probably won't, since the story and the characters are fictional. I'd probably just receive fictional money. Oh, well. Maybe it's worth a try.

I am overwhelmed by the number of reads of the first 3 chapters of "Amie and Jamie". The next chapter has been delay for a number of reasons. First, I work seasonally and it's that season. I score elementary and high school tests online at home for a company called "Pearson Education". Secondly, it's also allergy season, so I sit sneezing on my laptop as I score the students responses. At least I'm not handling their actual papers. Third, my daughter, who is only 39, has degenerative osteoarthritis in her vertebrae.
