Feeling a bit better

I've been under the weather lately, sinusitis and an injury to my foot. Both are doing better now, though the medication for my foot makes me a bit queasy.

But it's a great day today, a band at the college is going to perform some of my music. :)

It's just a little three-piece chamber group, violin, cello and piano, but they are professional musicians and I already got to hear them do, "Too Drunk Boogie" at rehearsal. I wrote the music for the song Lemon Jones sings in Donna Lamb's "Blue Moon". And the band chose it along with some other student pieces to perform. I feel like I did the first time the student newspaper printed one of my essays back in junior high. :)

I can't play the thing myself. LOL. It's too fast and too complex for my poor piano skills, though it is simple compared to some of the other pieces being done in the same performance by more advanced students. It's also the longest piece of music I've written so far. I only started studying piano and songwriting in January. Arranging a piano piece for two other instruments, neither of which I play, was also a trip-and-a-half. :)

I'm over the moon excited about this. :)

Hugs,
Erin

Well done, Erin!

I would love to hear this! Any chance of being able to download a recording of the performance of your music?

May Your Light Forever Shine

I know Exactly How You Feel

There's nothing quite like hearing someone else play something you wrote. It's something you never tire of :)
