This is what's ahead for me, as far as I can see:
- I'm working on the next Marcie Donner story. It's a bit outlandish and highly improbable, and at this point I think will be more of a mystery than the others. The plot's not all worked out yet, but I'm nearly done with the initial research. In it, Aunt Jane and Marcie go to Europe, and Marcie disappears. Spooky, eh?
- I'm not making any promises about Groans From Timbuctoo -- that is my fun piece. I'd rather not do it at all if it isn't fun. However, the next story is knocking around inside my head. I'm going to let it cook until the current Marcie story is done.
- Eventually I might continue the story of Dexie, begun in What The Hell People. I have some ideas, but nothing with a point. I mean, I can see what would happen next, but not why anyone would care.
- I've also got a time-travel story that I'm playing with. I've been thinking about it for years, literally, and started it a couple of times, but it so far it keeps degenerating into explanations, which is tedious. So I keep scrapping what I've written and starting again. I need to find a neat way of stepping into it.
- ... and some short pieces that at this point are just a few words and a gleam in my eye.

I don't know how you can write all that?
Especially of the quality you usually produce. But I look forward to reading it.

More Marcie Stories You Say And Short Chapters?
Will Marcie be moving in the next book? It will be fun to see how Chapters continues. He has almost as many misadventures as Marcie.

Marcie is not moving
Marcie is going to keep on living where she is right now, in Flickerbridge, NJ. In the next story, though, she will move around a lot, but she'll see some old friends.
Old friends who *you* know.
The characters from the first story will come back in future stories.
"I love your work", says Miss Green with envy. :)
I am roughing out chapter 3 of "Aliens" and we have a love/hate relationship right now. It just feels so cryptic, like a technical report; very frustrating. Then, I guess it's DP again maybe.
Writing is a lot of work but I feel so driven...
Good idea

That's a good idea, Gwen! A Dr. Pepper always picks me right up! 10 - 2 - 4! And a few in between. ;-)
Good fortune in your writing.
