I think we may have lost a story in the database meltdown last night. We had made a backup of what was going on at one point yesterday and it seems to me that at least one story got posted after that backup which is what we just restored from. Please, I hope everyone is keeping copies of their stories before posting them and if your story posted and disappeared, you can just repost. I hope.
Things are still a little shaky but if we get thru tomorrow with this setup, we may be good for a few more weeks. But these disk drives are at end of life and we need new ones if we are even going to last long enough to upgrade the base hardware. So, if you can donate to the Hatbox, please do. And keep an eye out here, we're going to start a hardware fund in a few days, I think.

Thank goodness we're back-ish!
It's a shame about any lost data, but it's really basically impossible to run an up-to-the-minute backup anyhoo...
Wish I could help with the hardware... But I've had a catastrophic cascade of failures myself that I can't afford to do anything about. I've gutted and junked like 90% of the last iteration of Behemoth because his mobo was acting up, his gpu was fried, and the data drive and os drive were reporting SMART failures. I have NO money. And NO income. And so I can't even afford to get Behemoth running again, luckily I still have my lappy... It's about as old as Behemoth's last build, but I haven't used it as heavily. I don't LIKE being stuck on the lappy... It's less powerful, has less storage, and I'm missing like... ALL my data until I can build a new behemoth and dd the partition tables from the failing drives to new drives.
When it rains...
And as for twitter... I don't use it myself, but I'm sure someone'll like it... I believe we already have RSS somewhere right? I -MIGHT- use that someday... but even that's unlikely... I can get my BC updates when I'm where I can get on full BC... *nods*.
