Sneaky Milestones
Annette MacGregor

Time has a way of sneaking up on us, and we sometimes miss milestones that might otherwise be considered important...

What? You mean nobody noticed that as of yesterday, I'd been a signed up member of BCTS for five (5) years? Don't worry, I didn't notice either. LOL

And - it's not that big a milestone, as I'd been a lurker over six (6) months prior to actually signing up. Why did I sign up? Well, I'll tell you. Two ladies/authors here convinced me to. One - to start writing (she also encouraged me to post here). The other - she also encouraged me to post here. The second did make me promise to FINISH any story I started here, and I have every intention of doing so despite life's attempts to get in my way. That first story, "Who Was I" is very rough... IMO, but some seemed to like it (I suggested a re-write and feedback was almost unanimous against it.)

What's happened in five (5) years? Quite a lot. To be honest. Five (5) years ago, I was convinced I'd end my life pretending to be a guy... Or as a lady - without a family. Needless to say (and the few dozen of you who've follow my "Road to Myself" blogs know)... Neither is the case. I transitioned at the end of June, and my family are among my strongest supporters! What a difference a few years make. Early on - I wrote three (3) different short stories over what I thought might happen with coming out to my wife and family. Someone noted that they became progressively less dark. Perhaps that was wishful thinking on my part, but it seemed to come true.

In any event, the past five (5) years have been eventful, here and on the personal front.

Thank all of you,
Annette

And I hope the next five years are less stressful than your previous five.
